For those unaware, the cellist (Ben Hong) had recently lost his wife about a month earlier. He said this performance was dedicated both to Kobe and to her. He did such a great job under such tragic circumstances.

Can you imagine how great the World would be if we all lived up to this attitude about life and living our best life. There wouldn’t be anything we couldn’t do. We could make the whole world great but unfortunately we have people who want to be on the dark side and create havoc, mayhem and cruelty. Kobe was a good Godly man who yes is not perfect but he tried to always be better and give it his all. I would love for every kid to take this message to heart and be their best. Hoops in Heaven- A Kobe Bryant Tribute Poem The clouds are extra heavy The sky, a solemn shade of gray Hearts are aching across the nation Many are gathered where you used to play But the silence is deafeningly loud Since people don’t really know what to do or say. The only thing we know is that we will NEVER forget this day. You will be remembered as a relentlessly fierce competitor For you, basketball was more than just a sport Ball was love, ball was life One of the best to ever step foot on the court. Laker for Life…Black Mamba There will never be another You made it look so easy-turn around fade away… “Bryant for the game winning shot at the buzzer!” Drive was in your DNA You always wanted more Your final performance was epic When you added 60 points to the score Then there was that time you unleashed on the Raptors When you put 81 points up on the board. This catastrophic loss is universal You touched countless people in many parts of the world Hearts are breaking across the globe for all of those who perished today including you and your baby girl. A father, a husband, an author, a producer You were so much more than a Basketball legend You gave us 20 years on the court Now, you’ll be shooting hoops in heaven.
