I think the reason I fell in love with this video was because of the sheer honesty and openness of it. Not even concerned at all with the microphone or the dogs barking in the background or the very slight imperfections in the guitar chords. While I can appreciate a polished piece of music, there's just so much of it that it's nice to hear emotion for a change. For what it's worth, this might have been THE video that really got me into playing music, and that really means a lot to me.

I think a lot of it has to do with the songs she's covering. A lot of her covers haven't been featuring "emotionally connecting" songs. She definitely doesn't add anything to her voice though.

But whether the singer is recording at Abbey Road Studios or in her bedroom on her iPhone, it's still the same singer using the same voice with the same emotion. Do you want to hear an album of 10 songs that was recorded in a bedroom on a smart phone? PS: The person who complained initially should try putting on a pair of nice headphones and compare the sound of this video with a more recent, professionally recorded one. Or run the songs through stereo speakers.
