very good..very talented dancers..love the idea and the meaning of this dance, not sure i like the choreography, everything is so sharp and fast motion, it would be nice to have seen this dance slowed down a little..its a soothing song, but not soothing to watch if you know what i mean..very good tho..amazing turns and technique! great job girls!

this song was origionally sung by rufus wainwright and it's not supposed to be a sad song. imogen heap just remade it very solemnly..... if that makes sense.

@ inlovespell Hallelujah-Jeff Buckley , the song was written by Leonard Cohen i think
@AndreaLove0517 жыл бұрын
I like this dance, its real nice. And pft, I'm pretty sure the original was by Rufus Wainwright, which was then covered by Jeff Buckley.

that would make a lot of sense if every person got the same affect from listening to a song. but one person may see a song as fast and rapid while another may see it as, as you would say, "peaceful".

i think silence is a virtue.. and the crowd cheering just sort of kills it.
@AndreaLove0517 жыл бұрын
Actually no, I was wrong. The original was by Leonard Kohern. Which was covered by Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley and Imogen Heap. I agree with 'obladeeobladah' - research it.
@ncorriveau17 жыл бұрын
No actually Leonard Cohen is the original artist. He wrote it and performed it in 1984. Jeff Buckley did it 10 years later.

wow. calm down with the Cross comments guys. obviously you searched up and watched the wrong things for you guys. idk but im pretty sure God would appreciate this because he appreciates the dance. and im pretty sure the dancers are strong believers in God. Leave them alone. *sigh* i guess dancers only understand..

Though I thought it was very pretty and a lovely song, I feel the song needed to speed up a little to catch up with the dancers. Maybe it's just me as an Irish dancer who is used to having the music always there and trying to make sure I dance the right dance to the right music. Maybe that's just me though. :)

I'm torn..they are obviously good at turning, jumping and leg extentions. I have seen many MANY dances choreographed to this song. That being said, though the other peices may not have the tricks, but their passion and slower (non- thrashy) movement matchess this powerful song. Each to their own! It's not the dancer's fault. I blame the choreo. And, the cross? Um, don't really know what to think about the crop -top, legs around the cross situation.
@Madison1435617 жыл бұрын
I know Jeff Buckley did the original of this song, who is singing this version? Thanks.
@ohwowitslaralove16 жыл бұрын
This is a beautiful dance I do agree, but I also am not sure how I feel about the cross. The symolism of it didn't make sense to me because the song, although named Hallejuah wasn't about God (at least, from my interpretation). And I'm not sure the dance was either.
@beauty4ashes199416 жыл бұрын
this is so awesome! but there is to much movement for the song.
@bunlessinseattle17 жыл бұрын
I suppose I'm a hater too. I just don't understand how anyone who has ever seen professionaly trained dancers could possibly see this work and think that it's a viable piece of art created by someone who understands dance as an art. I am not attacking these dancers, they only do what they're told by their teachers and choreographers.

why don't you do just one more turn!!! it would make this a whole lot better!.. not
@CrazyMLE16 жыл бұрын
Omg enough turns already. Instead of thinking about practicing four hundred turns, actually go and dance to a song and find the meaning of it and put the emotion in and "breathe" with the music. I'm not saying this isn't an emotional dance because it is but seriously guys..no one wants to see a thousand turns in one dance.
@thelazalex16 жыл бұрын
I don't like the cross in the middle. It reminds me of christianity during the whole song. What I like about this song is not christianity but the connection between love and hallelujah. I didn't receive any emotion. I watched bodies just monivg around without any reason. I felt that it was important for them to show off. However they were beuatiful and flexible.
@kamealeilani16 жыл бұрын
There is no question that the dance is beautiful. The use of the cross is a little questionable for many reasons. One, the clothing that they are dressed in, while appropriate in the dance world, is frowned upon by Christians. Also, they are swinging on and around the cross. That is very disrespectful. I am only explaining because you said you do not understand the dilemma. Just some Christian insight for you.
@meganisyou15 жыл бұрын
The fact that they are holding onto the cross as if it's a stripper pole is what bugs me. Ridiculous.

I really didn't like this. THe movement is unnecessarily fast...far too sharp. It lacks meaning. Horrible, especially the choreography.
@bunlessinseattle17 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter what my work is like, I'm simply thinking of the hundreds of works that I have seen in my lifetime, and, imo, this was one of the tackiest I've ever seen. That said, I don't frequent the competition circuit because I expect a certain level of artfulness in ...say...and artform. So, with the thought that I don't frequent the competition circuit, I may be wrong in my thinking that this was just about the tackiest piece of choreography that I've ever seen.
@bunlessinseattle17 жыл бұрын
That might have been one of the tackiest bits of choreography that I've ever seen.
