I bought this at an auction for $90 and plan to restore it. I was genuinely surprised I won the action.

Thank you. I'm really looking forward to restoring and using it. I ordered an isolation transformer, a signal generator, and nylon alignment tools. I've been dabbling off and on in electronics since 1972, including two years in college learning electronic engineering from 1980 to 1982. I think if I take my time I can really do this radio justice.

My father had one of these, after he passed I had it. Used it for a receiver when I had my Novice license in 1971. Later when I moved I gave it to my older brother, also a ham, to keep. Not sure if he still has it.

Wow, that's awesome. What a cool legacy to pass such a beautiful piece of ham gear from family member to family member. I got my first rig in 1990, a Drake TR-4C with all the goodies, I loved that radio. I ended up selling it after ten years of use and getting something newer and less scary to use.

James, I have the card intact on the bottom of my SX-24. Would like to send you a copy of it for your restoration project. Looking forward to your future videos on getting the Skyrider working!

That would be fantastic! How do you want to do this? I can Paypal you the shipping and what do you want for the copy of the card? I have a Hickok 6000A vacuum tube tester I'll be repairing first, it needs a new 50uf 6v electrolytic cap before I can use it. I'm sure it'll need to be aligned as well. Some of the stuff I need to build my dim bulb circuit has arrived, once the rest arrives I'll build that and 3D print a cabinet for it. Then I'll go through the parts list for the Hallicrafters receiver and order all the caps I need and I'll test all the resistors. I received the isolation transformer I ordered, and I already own a variac. The radio is in such good condition that I'm only slightly nervous about restoring it. I work stupid slow so I won't be recording my work, but I'll be sure to post videos of my progress.

@@JamesADoty I will check with "the plot shop" in Daphne and see if they can print a copy of the card on heavy card stock. There will be no charge.
