HALLOWEEN BONUS: Demi Lardner loves SAW and a bunch of other messed up horror films

I did a full watch through of all the Saw Movies when I caught covid a couple of years. It was a wild ride but worth sticking in for the overarching story at play. I wish I took notes cos as Demi mentioned there are a couple of almost identical looking characters which confused me and I think IV felt like a fever dream (although that probably wasn't helped my my actual fever at the time) and it did have a lot of the slowmo/fast forward/slowmo edits and smash cuts. But they are a lot of fun and the prop design and mostly practical effects are a real testament to the team behind it and their love of the genre. I'm currently watching through all the Hellraiser movies and I'm so glad that the Saw franchise didn't get treated like some of the later Hellraiser movies did. Also great recommendation of Body Melt. It's a tonne of fun and I reckon Demi will enjoy it based off her tastes. Great stuff.

This may be the most human-looking I’ve ever seen Demi. Not that she usually looks bad, but she usually looks like a visitor from another dimension. Great episode. Was very excited to see this pop into my feed, since the Scream episode with Demi and Tom is my favourite Total Reboot episode, impossible to listen to without laughing. I already asked for a recommendation, but I’ll still do some horror picks anyways. New release: Nope (I believe it to be Jordan Peele’s best work. Guess it’s a bit old now but I love it.) If I had to pick something newer it could very well be the newest Alien, I found it terrifying and terrific. Weekly picks: First, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, if only watched for a reason to listen to the fantastic Total Reboot episode covering it again. Second, Brain Dead (Dead/Alive) because I’m such a Peter Jackson nerd, and I didn’t appreciate it fully last time because I was too distracted by how gross the custard scene was. The finale is so sick, every kill would be the greatest moment in any other movie, but then they just keep topping it.

Ripper stuff! Love horror movies and always keen to hear people talk about it and find movies ive never heard of. My local video store closed only a couple of years ago and i still miss it but Alexi brings the vibes and transports me straight back there every week. Great stuff!
