My local Party City closed 2 weeks ago. Really wanted to go and see what they had.

I tried to film at my Party City, but they said it’s against their policy to do so. Now here’s what’s strange, they didn’t care if I filmed in the store in previous years. Halloween City told me the same thing last year, it’s against policy. Luckily, Spirit Halloween is where they were last year near me and they don’t mind me filming in there at all.

JJOrange why would that have to do with Covid tho? Also sometimes spirit’s don’t like you filming in there either. Depends on the manager.

JB Haunts all my Spirit stores are completely fine with it. Also, this isn’t the first time Halloween City had a problem with filming. Me and some other people have had this problem last year when COVID wasn’t even a thing. Party City never had a problem with it until this year (at least for my store) so I highly doubt it has to do with the current pandemic. I don’t really even care though, my Party City has every animatronic unplugged or turned off. Not to mention that everything with a try me feature was put on the higher up shelves. Apparently my Party City has a problem with people seeing what props do.

Is this the first time Halloween City has done animatronics? I've never seen them as a real prominent retailer of props, but I gotta say I'm impressed with what they got going on here. It's also FANTASTIC that Spirit Halloween now has some competition, because for too long Spirit Halloween has gone year after year without updating their technology or making REALLY impressive life-like animatronics because they haven't had too. Hopefully now they'll step their game up.

They copied some spirit props. The roaming woman is Lost Her Way, the girl on the tombstone is Angeline and some others.

Angeline copied lonely Laura (tombstone girl), she was released in 2019, and Angeline was released this year. Most Spirit companies really just copy pro props and make shittier low quality versions of them. Tekky is the only company that manufactures for spirit that I haven't seen copy recently. Also, that roaming ghost with a candle idea has been around since the beginning of roaming props and just gets remade by a different company every year.

I am surprised so many locations are still open with this much Halloween stuff! I went to a location I hadn’t been to before a couple months ago and that party city had a sale to get rid of EVERYTHING. The place was shutting down for good it seemed and so was my my local party city and I have no idea if it is still open. EDIT: it seems to be open but what shape it is in I have no idea.
