Straight up, I feel kids today don't appreciate the spirit of the holidays like we used to. I remeber getting this feeling once the first halloween commercials started playing. You knew the best time of year arrived and people actually decorated

i think it's not the kids fault though, a lot of it is because things like candy and special treats were truly special because they were more rare, but in this day and age it's common to eat sugar all the time so it's not as exciting to get some. idk. i agree that it seems like some of the magic of halloween has been lost these days but maybe i am just nostalgic about it haha. i do feel bad for kids in this generation who will have their halloween traditions all interrupted by the coronavirus ):
