something I've noticed about HHN is that there's basically no improv outside the scare zones. It's all recorded voice lines in the houses. Really kinda weird when you hear "Don't worry Dave, we just wanna kill ya." 5 times in a room.

Because the voice actors in the houses would blow their voices out to scare people that regularly. I'd rather the team members have their health and safety prioritized. When I hear regular voices coming out of scare actors at other haunted house events, it just reminds me of a low budget highschool production. Also, the scare actors in the HHN houses usually replicate sounds from movies/tv, so it keeps it consistent.

@@CarloRufinoSabusap Now hold on; huge, very successful haunted houses whose whole thing is "we are a haunted house" have live scare actors, reciting lines, interacting with people, yelling and whatnot. I don't really know if it hurts their voices, but I do know that there are safe ways to perform, scream, yell, and talk at length without totally destroying your voice. It's typically diaphragmatic breathing rather than chest or throat breathing. In HHN, it's just odd considering the sheer amount of work put into everything else that they couldn't teach their scare actors vocal techniques not to completely shotput their voices to the moon.

The scaremony felt like an afterthought. The nightmare fuel was very similar to last years. The deadman’s pier and Hell Block were missing about half of the actors when I went. Chupacabra made me roll my eyes a few times.

I literally never saw a video of yours until a little over 2 months ago, and you've rocketed to the top of my must watch list. Your wall to wall almost non stop coverage of all things Halloween this past month has been great. Every video has been a "MUST". Your honesty is refreshing and nothing you say ever seems forced or "scripted" for "their" pleasure. Keep up the good work! So excited that I saw you in PMMs video that was worlds colliding me. Just from seeing the videos I agree with the pumpkin lord he kinda seemed like a joke especially with the fart. He should have his own mic that can interact with everyone better. My favorite quote would be "go and bring me more Halloween!" Like what is that lol. I literally couldn’t be scared in that house because I was in too much awe with the attention to detail and atmosphere setting to bother with being scared. I was amazed. Definitely was my favorite one!

One fascinating thing that I heard in an HHN Hollywood vlog was that the houses there (in Hollywood) are sequels to the houses here. This is why, for example, their Legends Collide is radically different than ours. I have no idea if this is the case, as the two events have traditionally been entirely separate, but if it is true, it would mean an unprecedented amount of coordination between us and Hollywood.

I’m sure Hollywoods is a great time but honestly nothing Ive seen from them this year can touch Dead Man’s Pier. Hollywood also about 95% of the time does better with IP’s. But overall great video man! Always a joy to watch :)

I just got back from my night there. We went to every house except the monster prison and Halloween one. To be honest the experience this year was SUPER MID compared to any other time I’ve gone. The scarezones and scare actors around the park were nearly nonexistent and tbh I feel like the theme was pretty weak. My biggest issue was the lines and the fact that for some reason they didn’t give any spacing between groups going through the houses which spoiled the scares. The staff was literally cut into what seemed to be an 8th of what it usually is. My guess is due to COVID and the hurricane they wanted to make up for lost money so they didn’t cap the amount of people able to buy tickets which caused a huge surge and a bigger population of visitors than I ever saw before at any HHN event. This lead to my issues I stated before. With that being said it was still an amazing night and I am personally satisfied even thought I know this year was a downgraded version of what it usually is.

My honest opinion of HHN 31, last year's houses were better, I felt disappointed about the shows, specifically Nightmare Fuel, Ghoulish was good, but I liked Marathon of Mayhem better, I felt the same way about Legends Collide it's more like a Mummy house, and also felt the same way with Spirits of the Coven, I could tell that Hellblock was rushed, it didn't feel consistent, it felt that it was made in a hurry, but I got jumpscared a lot so that is a +, Dead Man's Pier is the best house of this year hands down. Halloween, Blumhouse, Descendants, Bugs, The Weeknd and Chupacabra were awesome. But one thing that's better than last year was the scare zones 😱, all of them are favorites of mine.

I think its possibly because aesthetically it is hands down the best house. It isn't scary at all but it seems like that house is where the budget went. Love hhn. Been going since 2014 but this year seemed a bit stock in terms of the houses. After doing behing the screams it explains why. 2 of the houses were last minute with one being completed in 3 weeks. Scare zones were cool but I feel 2018 and 2019 were so good that this had to live up to to surpass. Just my opinion but it was still fun. Just not hype fun

I went the first few times and it was great. So what if one scareactor isn't available in one scene in a house, it's not the end of the world. He ir she isn't there. Yeah nightmare fuel was the same as last year. Overall, I thought it was great. My top 3 originals are Dead Man's Pier, Bugs Eaten Alive and Hellblock Horror. My top 3 for IPs are Halloween, The Weekend and Blumhouse.

They were kind of terrible on purpose. We were still in the pandemic. That's why many of them were on stages and not a lot of them were running around. 6 ft distancing sucks LOL. I'm glad they're back at it this year as if nothing happened

Tonight was my first ever Horror Nights experience and Halloween was my #1! I love how true it was to the original film and the Michael scares are so good. Dead Man's is a VERY close second, the scare actors were absolutely amazing and committed.

so i went the day after opening night and then that sunday as well so here’s my ranking: 1. bugs eaten alive- i loved that one so much, it was so scary and fun(especially considering how scared the people i went with were which made it more fun) and as a costume designer, the costumes were so epic and the makeup was insane. 2. dead man’s pier- those set designs made me so happy like wowwwwwwww! and the soundtrack was wonderful! it wasn’t scary at all but it was so fun 3. legends collide- the horror makeup show has always been a show that brings me joy and the mummy is one of my favorite universal rides so i was geeking out 4. the horrors of blumhouse- this one was really good, it wasn’t scary at all in my opinion but it was very accurate to both the movies(there weren’t a lot of scares when i went through it but that might have been because we went through it as soon as hhn opened) 5. spirits of the coven- this one would be lower on the list if i wasn’t a huge costume nerd but those costumes were just too good 6. fiesta de chupacabras- again with the costumes and sets but THOSE PUPPETS!!! they were so cool and detailed! it was the last house we did for that trip and it definitely was a good ending! 7. halloween- i enjoyed the accuracy to the movie but there wasn’t anything jaw droppingly amazing about it 8. descendants of destruction- this one was actually one i really enjoyed but the girl behind me was screaming really obnoxiously(in a “i’m screaming to be obnoxious” way and not like she was actually scared) which was so annoying! the sets were epic for this one tho! 9. hellblock horror- this one was awful and i can say that with certainty. it was just too much going on and it was easy to follow the story and there wasn’t anything impressive about it. i didn’t go into the weekend house as i watched ur video right before we left to go to hhn and the weekend house just looked way to overstimulating and i think it wouldn’t have been enjoyable for me. great videos! it was so fun to prepare for hhn w u in a way! thank u so much and i can’t wait to see the hollywood one! my favorite part of going this year was when one of my friends kept being the one targeted by scare actors in scare zones and she would jump like ten feet in the air every time 😂 😂

I think it’s a great year for the scare zones and overall theme. a lot of the houses are lacking wellroundedness such as dead man’s pier being beautiful but not very scary and blumhouse being pretty scary (imo) but not visually impressive or detailed. legends collide and chupacabras are my top for sure and dod has a lot of potential

I have never done HHN. I once went to a horror house at Six Flags Over Texas. It took me about 25 minutes to come out of there. Workers were telling me to keep walking but I couldn't. Lol I came out of the house and my heart was beating so fast, I did not feel good. I had to sit down. Never again. That stuff is not for me
