We used to have a Halloween party every October at our Church when I was a child, and because of that I didn’t think anything was wrong with it and would dress my kids up when they were little and take them Trick-or-Treating. I’m a Grandmother now and regret ever celebrating such a dark custom.

This is year 2 of my family not celebrating Halloween. I've explained to my children, in depth, as to why we should not acknowledge or partake in this day. They are 8 & 9, yet they understand and are completely in agreement and do not complain about it at all. People need to get past this notion of their kids feeling "left out". Arm your children with truth, and let them practice what it means to be set apart! Thank you Lord for calling us out and setting us apart! We don't miss anything we've left behind to serve you!!! I thought I knew just about everything about Halloween but because Chuck is so well-researched, I picked up some additional facts. It's interesting to watch the different opinions Christians have on the topic. My entry into the occult was studying astrology books at the library when I was in 8th grade. I spent my life deep into occult/new age and came to Christ a few years ago. Halloween used to be my favorite holiday but after having the Spirit in me, it only brings me grief. As a parent, I was just honest with my child and explained that I just couldn't do it anymore. (I'm a big nope on our church's Trunk or Treat as well.) I asked my kid what it was he really liked about it. He said it was mostly the candy. So I agreed to have a fun family day the week after Halloween where we watch movies, he gets a ton of candy - including the really junky ones I usually forbid - and it's been working out for the past few years. On Halloween itself, we just ignore it and treat it like any other day.

I have done much research on Halloween, and have been blessed to share information with a few people. Just a couple of things, if I may humbly share; Samhain is pronounced Sauween. My kids are entering into their 40s....they never dressed up or went out to celebrate Hal. We locked the front gate and we never opened the door to give out candy. When we moved to a new house it took a couple of years for neighborhood families not to knock on our door for candy. If kids don't grow up making a big deal about a particular time, they don't miss it or feel left out. I grew up a catholic and hal was a big deal when we were kids, when I was born again in '71 I learned how sinister Hal was.

This way He gets the glory, and our faith in Him is increased. Just the other day, I experienced this type of scenario, and the Lord stepped in. It was wonderful to experience. (If the Lord helps us too soon, we often give the glory to other means.) It gives us peace during difficult times when we know He's on our side, and knows us by name, and the problems we experience.

There are many reasons why Halloween and Christmas shouldn't be observed by Christians. Chuck touched on the reasons behind Halloween with his awesome research and knowledge. I, on the other hand, will give the simplest reasons an unsophisticated person such as myself could give regarding Christmas; the Bible doesn't say that Christ was born during the winter time, let alone specifically on December 25. And of all the things Christ commanded believers/followers to do in remembrance of Him, observing the day of His birth wasn't one of them. Christ's birth, as glorious as it was, wasn't God's crowning achievement of redemption. God's greatest glory regarding redemption shone brightly in Christ's resurrection.

When I was a young christian, we as a cell group prayed for a man who had cancer and he was healed with medical reports. A few years later there was a relapse and he passed away. I was very puzzled. I don't have to be taught that halloween was associated to evil as I know it is but this woman husband ( whom I get to know after that ) told me that they celebrated halloween after he was healed. Inviting the evil cost his life.

This is most interesting.. I've known these truths since the late 1950's, but never heard Chuck preach on this. Very hard to turn Christians away from these holidays.., however we are well into these partys and holidays now in 2022.., and for which God will punish America..!!

Walked into Home Depot, they had an entire display of Halloween animatronic figures, some over 8' tall. They were sold out by the 1st of October, some of them costing almost $400.

Once our family found out about Christmas, Easter and Halloween, we stopped adopting the conventional tradtions and trappings that go along with it. It’s been over 30 years and we don’t miss it at all. We do honor the birth of Jesus but even the time frame of his birth is not in keeping with December, this was instituted by Constantine and they also celebrated the birth of Mithra the sun god which fell on December 25th..unbelievable

I went to a grocery store a few years ago in October. I couldn't believe it when I saw a man dressed in black with a black trench coat and a black necklace hanging down to his chest with a satanic star hanging on it. He was walking down the Halloween candy aisle and waving his hands as he walked as if cursing the candy.

I'm sick and tired of churches across America continuing to observe all "traditional" American holidays. We as church going members need to lay down a strong foot and resist and make a huge noise to those leading our churches that they either need to repent or leave!

I think we as Christians should just be bold and tell our children the truth about Halloween when they're young. Anything else is just a compromise. My kids are grown now, and as they say, hindsight is 20/20, and I WISH I had just told them the facts instead of entertaining any of this evil, even as innocent as I may have thought I was being at the time. The church just doesn't need to be partaking in it, I don't think, with alternatives, even, because regardless of how we may choose to "celebrate" that day/night, we're still partaking in it somehow. If I had my kids to raise over again, I would've done things so differently (in more ways than just this, but this would've been a great teaching moment for them about the Truth).

When I was a young teen, we would do mock seances and play with a Ouija board and do other things that looking back had an occult basis. We thought it was innocent play. It spurred my interest in witchcraft and I started studying the occult. Scary!

The event in Salem, Massachusetts is called Haunted Happenings. I could walk there from where I was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. It used to be one of my favorite things to do around the Halloween season, that is, before I began to take my faith seriously concerning these things.

Fisher Price has an attractive kiddy pink plastic "My First Seance Ouija Board" for young toddler/elementary kids to contact grandma, a missed dead pet, someone to help with their homework, etc etc....promising to open up portals.🤢 Imagine what friends or cousins, etc ur kids are hanging around/playing with and U don't know they are being introduced in someone's home OR school to the Ou Board like it was a game of monoploy or tic tac toe.
