FILM DESCRIPTION:
Minutes after Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie's basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie's trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael's first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.

I love how We get glimpses of JJC’s face as Michael but never fully. The way DGG and his crew have shown us his face in little segments but never as a whole is so clever. We know know he’s not deformed or anything like that just simply a guy who’s taken a needle to the eye and some burns and been locked up since he was 21 but we’re still so intrigued to see him unmasked fully is such a great move cinematically

This film may not have been the greatest but it definitely showed the definitive version of Michael Myers. Honestly it’s so hard for me to pick who I like more as The Shape, Nick Castle or James Jude Courtney. You can’t beat the person who started it all and gave so much life to the character, but you also can’t beat the guy who has completely redefined the role and has played Michael Myers exactly on point. Honestly both are the greatest Myers. My one gripe with this film on contrary to most peoples complaints is that I wish that this final mob fight scene would have been saved for the final film as I think saving all the OG characters to come back in the final film of the trilogy to come together to destroy evil itself would have been a very powerful scene, but it is still good here.

Nick is the original and will always be the best but it was at least 6 people playing Michael in just the first film alone. Will Sandin (as a kid), Nick, Tony Moran (face reveal), Jim Winburn (fall off balcony), and Debra Hill plays him in the scene where he grabs the knife as a kid and also a pickup shot of him standing outside of the Wallace house later in the film. Oh and of course Tommy Lee Wallace during the horrifying closet attack (because Tommy Lee knew exactly where to break apart the closet at and it saved money yet he delivers an amazing performance).

Compare that even with how he killed Karen in the end: it was pure hatred back then, but here it's like Michael... hesitates? Considering Karen had to hold the pitchfork in the air, stab Michael with it, wrestle him towards the ground, and then stomp his head in when he moved, she wasn't going to be able to finish the job before he could kill her and Allyson so it was better for her to lure him to the mob who way outnumbered the Shape. Karen was very bold for doing this considering she spent most of her life trying to deny and forget him thinking he'd never attack again. Overall, Karen represented an average person in this kind of situation and Judy Greer killed it.

For me Andi Matichak stole the movie for me, her acting was amazing throughout the entire film, especially in this scene: When Karen takes Michael's mask off and taunts him, Allyson is breaking down to tears; she's already lost her father, her boyfriend and her friends, she's crying to not lose her mother as well
