Kills is amazing and gets better with rewatches -- great job on highlighting very good reasons why. I specifically appreciate the sincerity of your tone; a lot of folks only talk about this film in an ironic sense, even when speaking positively. Feels a little shameful that this trilogy isn't taken more seriously because they're all very weird and uniquely great (2018, Kills, Ends).

My favorite parts of the trilogy are in kills. The flashback and the quiet tense moment of lindsay hiding and Michael looking for her

Here's my notes: This thing about not "needing to see" how Michael escapes is irrelevant and also not supported by the franchise history. In 78, we see how he escapes the asylum, in H2 we see how he escapes the Doyles and gets to the hospital. in H4 we see how he escapes the asylum again, in H5 we see how he escapes the dynamite explosion, the list goes on... Far as Laurie, you cant remove her, the mob doesnt convene there due to Tommy Doyle for starters, if you take her out the story then Allyson, Karen etc. have to go as well because they would be with Laurie At the end of 2018, Ray dies in the middle of the massacre, there's no time for them to mull over him, he's hardly ignored though, as Karen asks Laurie where he is, shortly after he's killed. Expecting them to sit around sobbing over him, while they're fighting for their life, makes no sense... "Sondra somehow cant escape her own house" correction, Sondra had more locks on the door by the time Michael got in there and she knew she couldnt outrun him.... its called fear and nit knowing what to do. Next, Sheriff Barker has no reason to listen to Laurie, none of the characters do, they're not part of the audience, i think you're not factoring that in. Laurie believed he escaped to come get her, which we find out isnt true by way of Sartain and confirmed by Hawkins and Allyson in Kills. WE know what Michael's up to, doesnt mean Barker does, he cant. I dont think its weird the news are bringing up a massacre that happened on that same night 40 years ago, they cant responsibly say its Michael (WE know it is, they dont) so speculation is all they can justify. Next, the mask means nothing in this timeline, its just a symbol of fear. The characters feel its special to him but ultimately, its just a mask Big John n Little Jihn are realtors (their ad is on the bench at the store when Tommy's gathering the mob) thats why they're living in the Myers house, a nod to the Strodes in H6.... The difference between Kills and 81 is 81 was designed for Laurie to still be the focus of the story, Kills is about the town being the focus, two different aims. Vanessa's death is no less realistic than Bob's in 78, come on mannnn lol There's nothing different about the mob in Kills than H4,Loomis is also saying the system failed and he failed, its a long runnnig part of the franchise. Tivoli's not bad casting, you're again missing the point, WE see Tivoli, the characters who know what Michael looks like, THEY DONT see Tivoli. 1: the news shows two men in sanitarium outfits, Michael is wearing a mask and mechanic overalls. The general public cant just know that. The only people who know how he's dressed.etc. are dead or not part of the mob. Gotta pay more attention, Tommy never sees Tivoli until its too late. Outside the bar, Vanessa made the mistake and everybody ran with it, in the hospital, Tommy heard the mob say it was Michael and again they ran with it. Even Laurie tried to join in until she SAW him with her own eyes and then tried to alert the mob. You're confusing what we see and know, with what the characters do (viewer myopia) and misjudging the events from that vantage point

Appreciate your feedback. One thing to note is that I do love this movie and I agree with you on a lot of it. I know they didn’t have time to take a second to mourn Roy in the previous film, and I think it’s great that they have that moment here. And I don’t mean to literally pluck Laurie out of the movie and keep everything 100% the same. Im aware of the (minor) plot holes that would cause lol. However I do think the mask means something. Im not saying it’s something supernatural but even if it’s a symbol of fear (like you said) that’s something. I also made a point in the video saying that I don’t blame the mob for chasing Tivoli. Even Tommy says that Michael always wore a mask and no one knew what he looked like. Appreciate your comment, just wanted to point out that we’re actually on the same page for a lot of the points you made haha.

'Kills' reminded me of years back something I haven't felt since I was a kid, when I would ask myself a question, 'What do I do if I face someone like that???'. In this Michael is a force of nature, almost like a primitive animal. It was slightly hinted at in 2018 when he had that tracking shot of the house with the head slam/neck stab. It was so violent and direct. It FELT frightening. In this, there were times I actually felt nervous if I'd have to square off against him. Almost like, if I was within arms reach and he grabs me I'm toast, but in the most painful way possible. I didn't watch it and have visions of heroic grandeur saying 'yeah man, I'd waste that dude so fast!'. No, it was I want nothing to do with that man. And Evil Dies Tonight!

In Halloween Kills, Michael and Laurie have no scenes together. Halloween Ends is a waste.

@jeremy-caesar figured it out btw. KZbin completely cut most of R.E.M.'s music out of their site, so you probly had the scene with him and balloon girl dancing in the crypt/cave and youtube cut the whole video just for that snippet of the song

Kills would have been better if the last scene took place in the hospital. Karen and Allison comes back to help Laurie and all 3 of them are running from him in there. I think it would have built up more tension

How are you gonna have 3 Halloween movies with no hospital scene of a chase. At least rob zombie attempted it even though it was in a dream sequence.

Appreciate the effort on this video but I couldn't disagree with this more, any of it. Aside from the flashbacks and the fire fighter scene this movie is pretty bad. I wanted to like it so much.

Kills was the best of trilogy. I did find Laurie being in hospital annoying.
