I did a project pretty similar to this. I found that if the bottles were ever exposed to a even small change in temperature the bottles would crack, and ultimately flakes of glass would come off. If you do want to keep them until next year I would avoid keeping them in an attic or shed.

Just recently found your channel and loving your videos! Is there any trick to putting the resin in glass jars? I have tried doing this, but within a few days/weeks, most of the jars ended up cracked with glass bits everywhere. I'm not sure if it's a temperature issue, quality of glass, or type of resin used. Thanks!

Pity there's not a link to the music. I like it as much as I did that art in the video, which is a lot. But I do have one question... is it possible to not pop bubbles in some bottles as some potions would have some? And that in mind, how would you make a potion bottle (or cauldron) froth and possibly spill over?

Hi, 'Graveyard Shift' is now attributed in the description (oops forgot) the other track is Happy Haunts from the KZbin audio library 😊♠

Such a neat little project. Do you think that alcohol inks would work as well as the dyes you used. I have alcohol inks and would really love to give this a try.💜
@resinAce5 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 You can certainly use alcohol ink in resin but I find it can be difficult to control the colour intensity and they're not always as vibrant as the dedicated epoxy colourants. I would advise to do a little tester before committing to a larger project. ♠

Where can I get one of those scales that you use? Lines on the cups are not accurate.
@ThroughFallenStars5 жыл бұрын
You can use a regular digital kitchen scale that has grams. Just make sure your resin is measured by weight and not volume since each part might be different densities
@resinAce5 жыл бұрын
If you search eBay for 'digital jewellery scale' you should find them, like the one at this link ebay.us/Fq7vRA just be aware you can get the same scale calibrated to different maximum weights, such as 100g, 200g, and 500g. I have both 100g and 200g for measuring my smaller pots of resin. Anything over that I use the kitchen scales.

What type of paper/transfer is used for this? I would love to give these a try for New years! This is such a cool idea! Thank you for the video ;)

Hi, it is called decal slide paper, I usually search it out on eBay. You need to choose a type that matches your printer, either inkjet or laser.

Do you have a recommendation for a clear resin that will cover paint and seal to glass that wont chip off or change the color of the pain?
@resinAce5 жыл бұрын
My usual art resin is particularly suited to covering artwork www.resin4art.com but the shiny surface of glass may cause problems in sticking to it. Shiny surfaces ideally need to be roughed up for resin to adhere.
@Majesticwolfie5 жыл бұрын
@@resinAce ok but would it work if i covered the whole glass just not close to the rim for drinking?

Just a quick question, if you use white water slide paper, will the background be white? Would love to use them for nail art!
@mookzmom5 жыл бұрын
Papalouie765 , I believe you can buy the paper either in white or transparent background on amazon. I only know this because nail art decals and such were how I got interested in resin to begin with.

I’ve noticed, from watching your videos, that my resin, when mixed, is always thicker than yours, and others. Is that because I’m mixing by volume and not by weight? I’ve just ordered a scale, so I’m going to see if measuring by weight makes the difference. Am I on the right track? By the way, thank you for all your videos. I’m just an old crafter with a new obsession , and the things I make are all for me to look at lol.
@resinAce5 жыл бұрын
Different brands of epoxy resin can be different thicknesses. My usual art resin is particularly fluid, especially if you warm it first. Some other brands of resin such as 'Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast' are notoriously thick.
