Played last night at 4. Its a fun hidden movement game that doesn't overstay its welcome. The line of sight and movement is a bit odd at times, but still fun. The IP certainly doesn't hurt either. There is definitely room for a hidden movement game that lasts 90 minutes and not 4 hours like some of the others can.

Have it already and have played it at 2, and the most important point in the review is where Chris mentions the MM character being able to DM the game ie make moves purely to freak out the victims by leaving footprints. This works as a game (we loved it) but if you played it mathematically rather than letting it tell the story it would lose so much. Thematically this may be one of the best adaptations ever - they didn’t mention the rules for when MM is actually revealed on the board and the mini jump scare when he suddenly appears right next to the victim characters

Doesn't look bad, and is perfect for horror fans or a Halloween/spooky-themed game night. MY only gripes are 1) price is quite high, considering they sell miniatures you can buy separately for nearly 50% of the cost of the game. 2) Wish this played 5 players like Emerson's previous hidden role games. Wonder if it can be house-ruled. I utterly despise finding games that play well with 5-players, because it is ALWAYS the player count I get stuck with in every game group I've been a part of.

With 4 players, Michael wins if 3 people die, so I assume that was why they settled on 4. I agree it is odd though. Perhaps it was about keeping play time down?

It’s a very fun game. I do love the IP and think it gives me a very fun thematic experience. My wife and I had a blast playing this last weekend. I would have purchased it almost regardless of the price, but I do feel the price is objectively too high. It’s a board, standees, a deck of cards and that’s about it.

Doesn't look that interesting to me. I love hidden movement and usually it's the player who's hidden that's being hunted.. But games like this flip it on its end by having the person who's hidden actually hunt the others which is amazing, but something makes me think this game is not that deep to give me that satisfaction. Dead by Daylight is similar too and was wondering if anyone has tried that and how it compares to this one?

DBD board game is really only for fans of the IP imo. Its cool, but that sucks is its really a 5 player only game. You CAN play 3 to 5 like the box says, but the way it uses movement cards don't feel good. Each survivor has a hand of cards for movement, but that hand of cards is shared if you're controlling more than 1 survivor, which you'll have of playing less than 5 players since there ALWAYS has to be 4 survivors in a game.

@@prisonmike1576 oh okay. Thanks so much for the quick description. Do you like any hidden movement game where the person who's hidden is the one hunting the ones on board? I have only one such game in my collection and it's not fully a hidden movement game but I like it. It's Jaws. I really like it but I wonder if there are any good games where the hidden person is the one after the non-hidden players.

@5ammy13 I actually haven't played one yet, I already Pre ordered this Halloween game. It's coming tomorrow, and I'm excited for it. I play with people who are big into horror and the IP, but aren't that heavy of gamers, so this game is perfect for me when I play with that group. But if hidden movment is a mechanism you like check out Sniper Elite the Board Game. It's a solid game with good mechanisms, and that's from someone who doesn't play the video game it's based on. Its more traditional all hunt one, but the Sniper can take out some of the hunters.

@@prisonmike1576 awesome. Have fun with the game. A lot of times, us gamers are caught up with mechanisms and rules and we don't indulge ourselves by dipping into the theme so it's nice to play the game and be immersed in it. Also as they said, you can sort of DM or Story Tell the game as it happens and that will make it more engrossing. I am a big fan of the Hidden Movement mechanism and I already have a bunch of games including Sniper Elite which I really love. But the game is still about the Germans searching and hunting for the Sniper even if the Sniper can shoot them. I am looking for games where the main theme also aligns with the hidden player hunting the other players. I think this works for horror the best but none of the games that have come out have been exceptional right? I know there was this other game called Camp something or not sure... It had Camp in its name. The concept, when I first heard of it, was really interesting but the reviews again didn't approve of the game a lot. I'm yet to find a hidden hunter game that's really good.

Well, no. A game can't be a 10 if it is a 7 for a Tom. Why pander as if it is better? It's not 10, I can't see it being anyone's "favorite" game.
