Bobby Pickett was a popular comic actor on tv and in films and a pop singer back in the 60's especially with Monster Mash thanks Phil. 🎶🎤🎸🎸🎹🥁🎶

I have a purple vinyl release from 2015! I must say, I was also surprised to learn that the song first hit in 1962, as I remember it as a kid in the 70s. I checked the Billboard chart history and found that it actually hit #1 here in the U.S. on its initial release in '62, but then made it to #10 during a 1973 re-release! Pretty impressive! I'm guessing the popularity of the '73 reissue is why I always thought of it as a song from my 70s childhood.

Hi Phil. Thanks for the review of this truly fabulous album. It is one that I really don't get tired of listening to in it's original issue. You need to get your mindset to the Hollywood monsters doing really silly things. And it works. Just looked at the track-listing and one of the best and funniest tracks 'Monsters Holiday' has sadly been removed and that is really poor. Tracks that were not on the original release have also been added, so it's not really a copy of the original. At least they kept 'Rabien'. Not sure if glowing vinyl is enough to make me purchase it now it has been messed with. A great shame. I will probably stick with my original vinyl pressing and the CD. Hope you enjoy listening to it.
