I've used this technique few times,and that's what feels right. Unfortunately I don't get to perform this exactly everytime I'm doing a ritual cause of limited space. And I'm more of a traditional witch, that's the path that I feel I belong in

Splendid video! Real ace! Brilliant! Thanks! I do something very similar to what you describe, but not until I have either drawn three actual circles with marker pen (water-soluble liquid chalk) on the floor, if indoors, or formed three circles of liquids on the ground, if outdoors. In the latter alternative, the outermost circle is formed by milk, the middle circle by wine and the innermost circle by holy water. Physical circles stay true to Renaissance magic, while all those visualisations following the formation of the physical circles draw on the accumulated experiences achieved by 19th century Occultists. There is a place for both.

I'm going to let you know something that is going to make a lot of people upset. Most of what is labeled "Traditional" Witchcraft is actually still drawn from if not plagiarized from Wicca/ British Traditional Witchcraft(Not NeoWicca). The only difference is that a lot of "Traditional" Witchcraft books change the names around to appear darker, hardcore, and edgier.

I was trained in the Old Craft over 20 years ago. The images you use in the video still id by Gemma Gary, Cornish Witch and maid of Rose an Bucca. Hallowing or setting the Compass is different than casting a circle. You dont cast a compass, you lay it. And some compass breakdowns utilize four, six or even eight roads or ways. The wence ways as they are called, are the roads to the primal worlds in Other. Compasses give us directional cues for when we are treading and traveling to Other in rite and ritual. There's a lot to understand regarding this traditional mechanism. Nigel Pearson is a good guy too. Ive known him for years.

Important note: If you are working with the fae...for the love of gods, do NOT thank them at the end of your interaction. Honestly, saying "thank you" just puts up a pretense that you now owe the god/spirit/fae/whateveryouareworkingwith something...so I really wouldn't recommend using it...in *any* case. Leaving a simple offering like milk, tobacco, crystals, etc. is usually enough to show gratitude.

Hi, I definitely enjoyed this wonderful video. I would definitely want to see a video on creating a Stang. I'm a newcomer and my family in South America Bolivia knew my grandmother was a witch and also a midwife in her small city in her country. But unfortunately never got to meet her she passed away before I was born so never got passed down the traditions with what I'm trying to discover now. I was told she would read with a candle flames and also have visions etc. It's really hard to find any books on how to read with candle flames or on Bolivian witch traditions. I would like to know if you could recommend any books or maybe a mentor? I would appreciate it.❤

This is wild! That's how I developed my ritual space for Druidry, but did so without any background knowledge! Basically, all participants walk widdershins around the outside of the space 3 times before entering the circle, then we all walk deosil three times upon exiting.

This definitely is more my style these days. I stated out with wicca and casting circles, calling the quarters and the whole nine. Then several years ago I read Scottish Witchraft by Ray Buckland which although it was presented very much through Buckland's wiccan viewpoint it described a system with ritual tools being everyday practical items and much more simplified rituals. That led me down the rabbit hole to traditional witchcraft and hedge witchery.

As a new subscriber, I've struggled to find a non wiccan video, there are so many out there. So I would definitely vote for more informative videos ( like this ) on traditional witchcraft and demonology. Black magic gets side linned too, because most assume it's to do with devil worship . There are zero helpful videos on necromancy, whatever happened to a subjective view and tips on how to do things with care and good intent. There are so many newbie's out there trying all kinds, if we could just make it safer by coming out of the closet, on these topics ?!
@DarkSaber-1111
@DarkSaber-1111 Жыл бұрын
Necromancy shouldn't be publicly available so easily. There is a lot of risk if you do something wrong when working with the dead or cemetery wortk. If someone is called to practice it then the spirit calling them down that road will guide them as needed. Sometimes people manifest what they want too. Seek and ye shall find.

Oh, I love this!! I've always felt strong connection to the compass directions (including NW NE SW SE), and especially with the northwest. However, I only really learned about modern paganism a few years ago, so a big part of my Pagan journey has been figuring out how I may fit personal rituals I created over the years with traditional ones. Needless to say, whenever the compass is mentioned in stuff like this, I get interested! Thank you for explaining this process! Some of it has similarities with how I already communicate with the direction spirits (specifically the trance part), so it seems like something good to try out to enhance those connections! Thanks as well for the book recommendation; the way you described traditional witchcraft sounds like it could be a good fit for what I do, I'll have to check that out!

My dear Scarlet. There are a few very important remarks I want to make. 1. Laying the compass, as it is called in Cornish Traditional Witchcraft, is done withershins (against the clock) 2. The four elements are in other wind directions: East is Fire, North is Air, West is water (as in Wicca), South is Earth. 3. There is no worship of gods, but Bucca Dhu is the god of witchcraft and it takes much courage and preparation for an encounter, which is not without concequences 4. TW is a Craft which takes a lot of knowledge, which is inherrited. Our traditions are secret and never to be shared out in the open, so they're not found in books. It takes an oath of secrecy that is never to be broken 5. You just can't join a circle 6. We are are, in most cases, solitary 7. There is no black or white witchcraft in TW 8. The Stang is placed at the point conform the ebat (the eight main feasts) 9. Not everything you'll find in the books (from Troy Books UK) is self-explanatory

You can definitely make your own chants, in fact they will probably be more powerful if you write them yourself. For what to include, focus on stating your intention clearly and you can also call upon any spirit/element/deity for assistance if you'd like.

Scarlet: Everything was Awesome! I really like your videos & I really like this video. I'm always learning & studying. Liminal Space ... Thank You. That would define "A world between the world's, a place between time and space ... Scarlet I love definitions without definitions my mind can't grasp concepts. So, Thank You, any definitions help much. Also: What are "Spirits of the Land?" or "Land Spirits?" Is that Genius Loci? Sorry I'm just big on definitions. For example books I've read and you (that's why I'm here to learn and Thank You) would explain how and why as you do. My Parents taught me magic intuitively looked at me and yes it clicked intuitively but why what is it? What are my Parents teaching me? ... After further study (and remember ... we didn't have Google back in the day) and years of frustration. Oh ... This is "Sympathetic Magic" my Parents taught me "Sympathetic Magic" intuitively. And that was just one school of magic they taught me. Everything my Parents taught me was all jumbled up with no definitions. Thank You Scarlet for the definitions, explanations, instructions. ★ I try to stay with Traditional Witchcraft vs Wicca because (and I have a good respect for Gerald Gardner and his ground breaking pioneering of Witchcraft) Gerald Gardner added some things that in my opinion shouldn't have be added. I think because of all Gerald Gardner's work was so new, hardly ever done before and trial and error. That even Gerald Gardner tried to weed out these things that shouldn't have been there. As for Wicca? There are a small number of things I've adopted. The teachings of the New Forest Coven? Now that I'd love to study. Awesome! Video Scarlet. Thank You.

You can do it however you want, this is just a technique that you use specifically in a newer type of witchcraft that is actually a break off of Wicca. “Traditional Witchcraft” isn’t used in the terms of these are more traditional techniques it’s actually it’s on sects of witchcraft it’s very new. When you talk about just using salts that could be a way that you cast a circle with Jess she said is used by people who practice Wicca but I’ve seen people who don’t have a religious affiliation associated with the witchcraft that also cast circles so you just have to decide what is a circle to you and why do you want to use it and how you choose to use it. I know some people who do not cast a circle at all the cleanse their designated space which might be a room or their alter and then they work from there
