Although Alien is one of my most favourite films of all time, I could never play Alien Isolation. I find being chased and having to hide in games absolutely terrifying and this game is just one perpetual chase / hide from the most invincible creature ever created. Dave did very well to even give it a go! Although of course playing a game with company is not the same as playing it at home at night, on your own. :D

The 'Alien ride' they were talking about was probably the one in Disney Tomorrowland and was called 'ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter'. It wasn't actually based on Alien but was inspired by it. It was an augmented theatre experience using animatronics and special chairs with rumble, compressed air and speakers built in. It had elements of the fly in that it was based on a teleportation demonstration gone wrong. They did want it to be based on the Alien films but it broke the hard R rating rule for the Disney parks. Unfortunately it was shut down in 2003 and replaced by 'Stitch's Great Escape!' as it was deemed to not fit in with the other rides/experiences in the park (which is true, but still). You can find footage of it online - it was pretty great. I went on it aged 8 and it left quite the impression, but then I loved the Alien films as a kid. Depending when you went to it the pre-show section had a robot voiced either by Phil Hartman or by Tim Curry (I believe the latter when I went in '98).

I did the ride at the American Adventure Theme park in the UK, where you are strapped into a cinema chair and it played a short Aliens film. It was so scary but awesome. The face hugger at the end got me everytime.

Alien Isolation is the scariest game I have ever played. I don't scare easily. It gave me such anxiety with the atmosphere and the music, I stopped playing it lol. Even though I've never finished it, I still give it a 10/10 because of the fact it made me feel the way it does. Thank you letting us watch Dave experience it :D

This is an interesting experiment on the effects of horror games, not just for when Dave's heartrate goes up but also when it goes down. Like when he got attacked by Mia in RE7, his heart dropped to 57 afterwards, like he couldn't handle it anymore and his heart just needed a break.
