Hallstatt was absolutely beautiful, I was so glad we got to see it with some snow. Hahaha I tried to warn him about the Krampus’s he was going to be seeing but I don’t think he believed me! Even the little ones had no mercy!👹👹

The town with the ossuary in the church and amazing scenery was fun to see, and the cookies are great! The tiny Krampuses are adorable and hilarious, I've never seen kids be Krampus before! I grew up in Washington state and there is a town in the mountains called Leavenworth that is Bavarian themed to give them tourism because someone thought it would make sense for their location. It is usually really hot and dry there since it's on the eastern side of the state, but there is a waterfall and forest nearby and after seeing this actual Austrian town I can see the similarities to the PNW, so that was weirdly nostalgic.

We had an amazing time in Hallstatt, it was absolutely beautiful there! Hahaha yeah the Krampus kids were great! The was a much larger kids Krampus parade in Bad Goisern before the adult parade, they’re so much fun to watch. I’ve heard of Leavenworth, they have a Krampus event too. We’ve actually been talking about making a trip up there to see it one of these years.

Do you know why they separated the skull and thigh bone from the rest of the body to put on display?

They are real skulls. They don’t view death quite the same way we do in the states, over there it’s not really something that needs to be hidden. Not only that but you make a donation to their church to enter so I’m sure that contributes to them being ok with it.💀💀💀
