So my takeaway from this is that: - Jackals win early rounds unless the Grunts get lucky with grenades. - Jackals slaughter Grunts no contest on Plasma Rifle rounds. - Grunts start to win in later rounds with more density because Plasma Grenades are taking out 5 Jackals apiece. - On squad rounds, Grunts win no contest unless Fuel Rod Grunts die in the first few seconds. I think that kind of checks out with Legendary campaign issues. Grunts are enormously dangerous because they are Plasma Grenade dispensers. I wonder if a single Elite or Brute added to these encounters would change who wins at all. The grunts have certain things they do (ie. double Plasma Grenade suicide) when their squad leader dies.

You know, I've always wanted Firefight to be with eventual Flood invasion. Every now and then some dispersal pods arrive and the bodies fuel the army... The round's last remaining Covenant forces desperately trying to survive the massive wave of their own dead whilst still fighting the ODST/Spartan squad. Then the game is on: "Rise up and I shall kill you -- again and again!”

This shows that even if you have less destructive firepower than your opponent, you can still win if you maintain your discipline and hold formation. Grunts are tougher than Jackals, and Jackals are vulnerable without their shield, which doesn’t cover all their angles and cannot stop a plasma grenade. They were equal in terms of weaponry, except the Grunts had the power of destructive plasma grenades, giving them a significant edge against their opponent (except Jackals are generally more accurate and fire more frequently). If you the fight based on these stats alone the grunts should win most times, but their panic was always their downfall. They could get victory if they wiped out enough Jackals with the initial grenade throws, but if they were unlucky it was almost always a matter of time before the Jackals totally swept them. The fight was almost always decided as soon as about half the Grunts broke ranks and routed. The Jackals discipline in the face of fire and death was their key to victory. Not to mention they were able to account for their shield’s vulnerability by forming a kind of phalanx. The Grunts stood the best chance if they maximized the potential of their grenades, and kept their morale as high as possible. The Jackals exploit of this weakness was the sole reason they won.

Great job ,but please make a halo 3 marines vs elites with a odst vs elite round too. THe reason why is because it would be epic and show what halo 3 would be like if the elites were still humanity's enemies in the game. We could have 1-5 marine with assualt and battle rifles vs 1-5 elites with plasma rifles for the first rounds. Then for the next 5 rounds start giving some elites needlers and carbines. Also start giving some marines careless sub-machine guns. By round 10 there could be three sword elites plus elites with carbines, needlers, and plasma rifles vs marines with shot guns, battle rifles, sub-machine guns, and assault rifles. By the last round there could be two elites with fuel rod guns plus three with energy swords vs three marine snipers and two with rocket launchers.
