That's a good observation, the soundtrack gets more jazzy and relaxing during the Mombasa Streets sections as the game goes on, but in the beginning, it's tense and creepy as you are first getting your bearings.

Man, Marty is a fucking legend. The Mombasa Streets segments are probably one of my favorite highlights of the entire Halo series. Sure, the other highlights were amazing in their own merit, but they're exactly what you'd expect from a space epic such as Halo. The Mombasa Streets free roam missions are way more subtle than that. They're unique. A way to space out the action with time to reflect, on your mission, on Humanity's hopeless struggle, on the desolation of the colonies, and now Earth, of what once was but now is claimed by the fire of war. Also, just to ease your mind and explore. You wouldn't expect such a well crafted experience, but Bungie delivered. They created an entirely unique outlook on Halo by virtue of sticking the player in a situation where they're lost, with no waypoint and an open world to explore while searching for clues. And backing that up, is some of Marty's best work. It's not often that you got to soak in Halo's atmosphere, but Bungie realized the potential of that and ran with it. That's just one of the reasons why ODST is so good.

I love the theme of ODST's Soundtracks. The Game was designed like a Noire Film, so the Sax elements give that much of an edge. This is also the first Game to not feature a Choir predominantly. Except for that one in Tayari Plaza. that is what makes ODST a very unique game.

Somehow Marty is so much of a genius that with "Pounding the Pavement" he was able to make a piece of quintessential film-noir-feeling-and-sounding music than ever actually existed in the entirety of film noir.

There was a track during the level that isn't in here I'm trying to find. I had gotten close to the objective but doubled back to go to a supply cache. On my way there there was a light, more upbeat track with some percussion (bongos?) that I heard that I can't find anywhere. Anyone know what it might be?
