The song is an allegory to Noah's flood. After forty days of rain and darkness, the clouds part as a rainbow illuminates the sky, juxtaposing a sense of calm against the scene of an endless wasteland made hopeful only by the last sanctuary that is the Ark. At least, that's what I was told.

I think that some songs have a stamp of "time" to them, and this one truly sounds like it was made in 2007. But that's not a bad thing, 2007 was a beautiful year for me and in many things that I interacted with in that year. I feel like this song captures and echoes that feeling of the period so flawlessly in such a beautiful way that feels nostalgic. I feel like experiences back then were so much better connected than now. I feel like the orchestral soundtracks of not too long ago helps bring a more cohesive structure to games rather than just a one man electronica composer (not that this is bad either,) but overall it's an emotion that I feel listening to this that is very difficult to put into words.

That could be a real Forerunner structure, a library or repository that houses the archives containing millennia of their history, watched over by an ancilla, rows of terminals, star maps of their empire minus anything on the Array, walls of the concourse to the entrance an awespiring hundreds of feet tall with planters on each side.
