Something that I thought would be an interesting way to structure a UNSC Navy Flotilla is to have a Destroyer to act as a command vessel+force multiplier for the group alongside the other 3 Frigates, as the extra armour and better weapons would increase the offensive power, longevity and tactical flexibility of the group in both larger fleet battles and scenarios where the group is completely isolated. Funnily enough, it also mirrors Bungie's design philosophy for enemy leaders in their games by having them larger, stronger and more distinct from the grunts, which gives the group a very distinct look. If you're going to continue to expand your fleet, maybe adding a couple or three special manoeuvre flotillas in that pattern might be a worthy addition. If it's possible, of course. I don't have the capacity to print models myself, but I've written down various UNSC fleet compositions and that flotilla type is a favourite. Always love to see the UNSC's finest ladies in action.

Fax chief, and yeah, it makes sense to have a destroyer lead a small group of 2-4 frigates on small scale patrols or expeditionary missions, like the battlegroup that discovered harvest after its glassing. Sadly, 343 wants to deprioritize destroyers in the post war era, with stridents fulfilling that duty

That is the same thought I had since always having a compliment of ground troops and tanks on board of your ship would be for the most part pretty much useless unless for those specific circumstances such as for a upcoming ground operation but other than that maintaining the number of unsc marines or unsc army personel we see in the games on your ship would just sap your own resources and be not needed

Right. I cannot imagine the large scale battles of the Cole campaigns, with dozens and hundreds of unsc vessels all being stuffed with marines, ODSTs, tanks, and pelicans. I think its ok to have most of your ships have the capacity to carry these, but not all the time. Some ships that focus exclusively on ship to ship combat like Halberd-class Destroyers have barely any room (50 troops, 2 pelicans) and that makes sense, its not their purpose.

Something I would like to point out is that it seems that your fleet seems to lack in capabilities in electronic warfare such as a dedicated corvette or vessels designed to do things such as jam enemy communications or hack though this is humanity 500 years in the future so I think that is less than a issue but overall a pretty solid fleet!

I see what youre saying, and it's unknown what the UNSCs EW capabilities are. There is a dedicated EW frigate class, and prowlers do have some jamming tools as well. If you see something missing, its almost certainly because i didnt have the files for it

@@cplhotpockets if this was a fleet that existed within the H-C War, I'd probably replace thr Stridents out right with double the amount of Halberds. But at the end of the day, it's your fleet ✌🏾

Prowlers are a huge must, critical for recon, sabotage, and deploying nukes, basically submarines in space- sorry, relived my prowler video script. But yeah, prowlers are very important to the fleet, and id love to build some, even make a small prowler fleet and reenact silent storm, but lack the files, for now😈

Unfortunately there's no plot armor on any of these. One single hit from the 343i Cannon sort of destroyed the majority of the UNSC ships including the UNSC Infinity.

Okay, but can the other Fighters and Aeroframe units fit into the bases or not? Because Halo has a size discrepancy for human ships.

I think they can, or at the very least dock on the exterior with some of the really big ones like the longsword, which makes sense given its very slender shape. In the Autumn, the hangar with the longsword could also hold 8 pelicans. Some believe the autumn had 8 such hangars and thus needed to be upscalled but considering it had just 12 pelicans total i think a slight redisign for one or two big hangar for a couple of the longswords and the pelicans while the other 3 longswords dock outside. UNSC ships are pretty big, so if used efficiently their space can be plenty for their roles

@@cplhotpockets the longsword is 3 times larger than the total width of the hanger bay doors or even the hanger themselves. The height is also just as short of the hanger doors and the space is short enough to hold around 2 pelicans or 3 scorpions or 12 warthogs. The Pillar of Autumn has 8 hangers, 4 port and 4 starboard with the back being a hidden hanger section in the bow of the ship near the engines. This would also go for the other ships when looking at all dimensions when fighting all UNSC vehicles. I did the dimensions myself as well since I wanted to fight all units that each hanger had fit inside of them and couldn't.

Heres a good place to start, and you can also scroll through "UNSC/HALO ships" on thingiverse, tinkercad, or STLfinder. Youll find most ships, even some fanon ones. Sadly the Orion class Assault Carrier and my personal favorite, the old non canon Punic class Supercarrier from SotP dont have models, yet. Happy printing
