I really wished the writers of the Halo TV show had watched this. Spartans are traumatized, theyre the product of an unimaginable sacrifice, they know they were abducted, and each of them struggles with whether or not it was worth it. One of the reasons they fight IS to make it worth it. They dont need memories supressed or constant monitoring. They believe in the cause of humanity. The Halo TV show thinks of them like this guy does, as military hardware.

In events were spartans could not be recovered, allies would overload the suits mini reactors and it would be blow up like a nuke, vaporizing any trace of the spartan and anything else in the area

Early on in his training, one of John 117's first lessons was the importance of putting other's before himself, and despite failing initially, he learned to grow alongside the other children. It was his natural ability to lead that resulted in him having a natural respect among them and the other soldiers on Reach and the many missions beyond. Mendez, Dr Halsey, Johnson, Cortanna, Keyes, and even the trainers helped mold Master Chief into the soldier he would soon become. In the end, despite what the purpose of his training was, it was repurposed to fight the biggest threat to humanity as the Covenant began their genocidal purge.

Anyone who gets abducted by a secret military section at 6, given SPARTAN training, and then subjected to experimental augmentation while being told they are the saviours of humanity is, by definition, broken. 117 just liked that shit more than most of the others. That's not something that can be manufactured. ONI can't manufacture Master Chiefs...but that dialogue ties into the book First Strike where Halsey tells John that if he delivers the FULL file on Johnson, ONI will kill him and autopsy him for a one-in-a-billion shot at making all humanity immune to the flood.
@Runescythe98524 жыл бұрын
@@Crimethoughtfull None of the Spartans, even in their youth, were ever told that they would be the saviors of humanity, though they were shown that their actions could make a difference in the war. Even Del Rio explained that the original purpose of the Spartan project was to cut a swathe of confusion and destruction within enemy lines during the UNSC's war against the rebelling elements of the outer colonies. Master Chief though, took his role in leading very seriously, as when many of the other children died during the augmentation process, he took that very hard. Far and away the best thing about Halo 4 was the theme that Spartans, and soldiers more broadly, are not tools, they're still people with feelings, and even if they struggle to connect with others, they're not just ruthless killing machines. It's a great corollary to the legend of the Chief built in the previous trilogy, pulling away that layer and showing his more human side, struggles and all. Humanity was going to fall at the hands of the rebels anyway. Either at the hands of the Covenant, or the Rebels - in either case, the Spartans saved them. Justified? Well, if the only reason you're standing here, now, having this conversation is the result of her work, then perhaps it is justified. Her work saved countless lives yet to be born, lives that would have never been if not for Halsey's actions. I don't support the kidnapping of children and indoctrinating them into the military, but the good far outweighs the uncomfortable necessity. When you're up against the wall, extinction imminent, you'll do what you have to, to survive.

In the Karen Traviss trilogy, I hate how Parengosky is basically white-washed, with all blame being laid at Halsey's feet. Halsey couldn't do nothin' w/o Parengosky...who subsequently OK'd the suicidal Spartan III program. But somehow Parengosky is OK but Halsey is EVIL. And it all revolved around the clone replacements. An argument could be made that the replacements "made everything OK, b/c their kids just died...b/c. Case closed." But Parengosky OK'd the kidnapping, the child-soldier thing, the highly-experimental augmentations, MJOLNIR, that killed anyone not SPARTAN-ized. But Traviss gives her the white-wash while heaping all scorn upon Halsey. Unacceptable.

It was sarcasm. If you put the games subtitles on theres a question mark at the end of the sentence indicating he was asking Halsey sarcastically/rhetorically
@NobleGamer01175 жыл бұрын
@@Tom.morals Definitely it was a question, even without the subtitles I knew it was a question cause, Hasley said his file had read MIA, so then he asked 'Spartans never die?' as a question basically implying, 'Are you suggesting that Spartans never die?' Many people actually got confused thinking that he said as a statement and not a question, when in reality it was a question.

Why is this so realistic looking
@zuzusuperfly83635 жыл бұрын
We've been hovering around photorealistic CGI for awhile now. The only problem is rendering time. This was the followup to one of the greatest game trilogies of all time, and it's relatively short. So it made sense to render something this computationally intensive. What strikes me though, is HOW LONG the master chief collection is, and they rerendered ALL the cutscenes beautifully. That really surprised me, when I found out how far they were willing to go for the remaster.
