I'll be gutted if ShyWay isn't part of the casting team for whatever esport event comes with infinite. Awesome content and analysis

Youre completely right! The depth of research and analysis this guy does is exactly what makes pro sports commentators an accessory to their respective games. I’d love to see how he can help evolve casting in halo

I've been trying to incorporate this into my gameplay since you talked about it on stream, and it has actually proven to be quite useful. Though it doesn't save too much time, the fact that it makes the short hop so much more consistent-- even in the middle of a gunfight-- makes it a good way to escape opponents. There have been multiple occasions where I have juked out an opponent at garbage truck by doing the route at 5:06. I normally wouldn't go for a spring jump up to the window because doing a regular jump to set the spring would expose me, but since it is easy to set it with a buffered short hop, the sequence becomes more viable. The same can be said for 7:42.

Oh that's hot son! I just wish the spring jump was easier or some thing because in a fast paced game it never works for me I choke lol

the score board spring jump is easier.

I kinda knew that this was a thing for around a month or 2, where I was really looking at the short hop and what small time saves it can provide. I came across a clamber-buffered short hop at some point but never paid it any mind tbh. Technically speaking, on a map like Russet with many different levels, you could be really nerdy and use the short hop to hit multiple edge-slope/slope-jumps in quick succession to navigate the map without sprint and high speeds, among other things.

Bro we're using Smash tech in Halo now lmao Edit: Honestly, I had a friend tell me about shorthopping but he didn't want to tell me how to do it or if I was really doing it because I wasn't aware that it was in the game. That's pretty epic honestly. I think it's a pretty useful tech but one of those situational ones perhaps?

I didn’t know this was considered new but great video as always Shy! Prob been utilizing this for a month or so now and you can literally do it on any map.

Also Shy, I’ve been messing around in customs doing jumps and I literally been doing backward spring jumping/thrust jumping lol. Pretty useless but looks flashy. Could I possibly send you clips Shy? - Slump Daniel

YOOOOO shoutout to melee bro. How did I know you of all Halo people would appreciate SSBM? What a legend. I’ve been playing both halo and melee for years and to me, they are the pinnacle of their respective game types.

Love your stuff shy all your content is good. The grind and hardwork was all worth it and halo infinite will open many more doors for you bro

Great video! Additionally, you can ghost jump from bottom drill plat to drill plat on the rig instead of spring jumping. I personally think ghost jumping is a bit faster and loads easier in that instance.

I remember in halo reach the mini jump was useful when paired with strafing, the little hop is perfect when you are one shot

I been watching you for a while now and there is one thing I can't get down. The Thrust-slide-jump for ultimate height. I can do it for distance tho. So my question is this, are you using a spring jump added on to a thrust?...and that's how you get that crazy height? What am I missing? Please help
@Shyway4 жыл бұрын
If youre talking about the Super jump - where you stabilize out of a thrust slide jump for maximum height, a big part of it is the timing of the stabilize - this is an old video, but should still cover everything you need to know: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3nLY4mArLh5iaM

@@Shyway yes!!!! I finally made the super jump on the rig! Holy shit I did it! Thanks again shy, your the man!
@grantjames37364 жыл бұрын
Woah, wait how do you do the short hop? Specifically, how do you make it hop after a clamber so that you can setup your sprint jump better. Makes a lot of sense because you always have to jump (or land) to spring jump. Just didn’t gather very well how to execute it from the video. Thanks bro!
@Shyway4 жыл бұрын
I explain it briefly at 4:30 in the video - it's kind of a reverse spring jump, you need to press crouch and jump together at what feels like the exact same time - though i believe the crouch input comes first by the smallest fraction of a second. It's easier to get a sense of the timing if you temporarily switch your controls to something where crouch and jump are A&B, and then press the 2 buttons together.
@grantjames37364 жыл бұрын
Shyway Do you have anything that walks through knee cap spring jumps? Can’t seem to figure out how to do the one on fathom from the landings up to top mid.

Any way to incorporate short hop into your strafe without using a clamber? Good video my dude.

It's pretty late in Halo 5's lifespan to try learning this stuff, but I would if I planned on playing it a lot in the future. I hope Infinite is complex in a similar way to Halo 5. If they do give it plenty of tech, however, I hope some of these skilled jumps are a little less complex to input.

it surprising to me that there's not a lot of parkour map content on h5
@glenpatrick33464 жыл бұрын
I have been doing this for years. On Eden is one of the few maps I like to use it. When going behind the short wall on top Cat and spring jumping over to the open side of top cat. I slide short hop along to do it on top cat too when u rush off red spawn to get to short wall without the other team seeing your head. Try it. Lemme know what you think :) @shyway Its cool knowing something before anyone. I just told my friends about it, in passing while playing. Didn't think it was a big deal lol
@Shyway4 жыл бұрын
Nice dude! Yea of course it's not anything crazy, but a nice little nuance for those confident in spring jumping looking to add a little more movement efficiency
@suppression21424 жыл бұрын
Shyway if u ever get the chance we can play a custom game and I can show u some other techs and stuff u probably didn't even know about and you also missed something crucial with the short hop I know quite alot of techs some of them are more useful than others and some aren't useful at all but maybe you can find a way to combine these other techs I know and button combos with other techs and create something that is useful, what do you say? maybe you can make a video about it after.
