@SuperGeertje ok what you have to do is go into the same file that halo ce is in then go to halo update itll have the legenday icon above the title and click it then do what it says

@purepker95 well most of halo players halo invalid cd keys and the only way to p[lay with an invalid cd key is halo ce v1.07

I kinda can't get this to do what it's suppose to? Like, I did everything exactly how you explained it, minus the crack because I have an actual Halo CD [just not the key cuz i lost the box years ago] but anyway, no matter what I try I can't get CE to go to 1.07 i copied the files to the right place, that did nothing, i even ran the auto updater n that just gave me 1.09 which doesn't help due to my cd key problem. wanna give me a hand here?

I used a clean copy of the Custom Edition and followed this, but it still updated to 1.09.... I can't play it like this. Is there any way to trick the game into thinking that 1.07 is the current patch and not ask to update?

this is the wrong way heres what i did with my pc that worked perfectly just quick search: halo ce and then download whats on the top then first after that it will ask you for a key code then you search up a vid for key codes and it will work then it will ask your for a cd WAIT before you get sad go back to the quick search halo ce and go to the third link an get the hot fix v1.07 and go back to the first link you downloaded and there you have your perfectly fine non virus halo ce
