Besides that ONI ending scene is honestly just kind of stupid, ONI was heavily crippled with Cortana's take over, thy were only dangerous because they operated withon the buraucracy of the UNSC, pulling strings, silencing those they decided to, but with the UNSC now simply a resistance movement ONI has lost much of it's strength and influence, at best it makes the most sense for remaining ONI agents to simply act as intel agents and spies for the resistance, especially those who were aboard Infinity, and honsetly I thin most of ONI's agents would be more focused on fighting the Created and later the Banished, so this cutecene at the end with ONI's threat is just stupid. Any leaked info won't have much consequence to the organization, especially since the UNSC remnants have bigger problems to deal with.

"all the hype" lmfao, the game's basically dead with literally just a few thousand people still playing it, if anything, S5 looks like a way to squeeze even more money from those people more than anything else. The game started bad, really bad, and two years later nothing has changed, nothing has been fixed, they just rotate modes and maps each week, and of course throw those overpriced cosmetic bundles, that's literally it, but the game remains unfinished, unpolished, fundamenty broken on Xbox with basically permanent desync, absolutely terrible controls rivaled only by the infamous KZ2 on PS3, there's still bo real lobby system, no map voting, modes and maps come and go after a week instead of just permanently stay there once added so people can actually pick what they really want/like to play, forced crossplay is still there, there's no way to buy individual items in the store instead of the mentioned bundles, and you can't buy items outside the given timeframe instead of whenever you like, theater still need some work, so as custom games, the list just goes on and on but in general, the hame barely differs today from launch day, with the only exception that you can choose expanded/regional matchmaking, which by itself caused a ton of people to quit the game after being constantly put into 200-300ms ping matches, forced global matchmaking and forced crossplay are what basically killed the game before it even launched.

It's all just a surface-level cover up to an otherwise barely playable beta, hence barely anyone plays it, some people come back whenever new season drops only to whiteness the same bad game and quit it yet again, S4 was literally dead within week after launch with half of the playlists being unpopulated, including the "hyped" Infection. As well as Forge and Custom Games browser. None of it matters at the end of the day when there's no population, because the core gameplay experience is so bare ones and/or just wrongly designed. 343 can add 20 playlists, 50 maps, 300 cosmetic items, and it still wouldn't matter at all when the game's plagued with desync, which alone effectively makes the game unplayable. We can throw the "better gaming chair" but people aren't dumb and know damn well that there's something wrong with just this particular game where every other works perfectly fine.

As much of a lore and story nerd as I am, I still am okay with them canceling this story. Put the resources elsewhere, I'd rather just get actual campaign DLC or even Spartan Ops missions or simply have them add more to the mp to make it more fun. I felt like having to keep the mp restricted to the academy storyline severely limited the maps and modes we got

the academy story didn't restrict them at all, hell, we have forge. The easiest explanation is that all the maps are virtual simulations of the actual locations. Pretty sure that's what they went with too in H4 and H5

With the direction season 5 is heading, looks like multiplayer story is 100% scrapped. I am extremely disappointed. No campaign DLC/Expansions, no multiplayer story. It is hard to care outside of the game being fun. I love halo for the universe.

Literally the only thing that would make the multiplayer story matter would be a PvE aspect, too bad it took this long to add Firefight, imagine if it was from the beginning and you had Firefight events or Spartan Ops related to the story, in the beginning they would be Spartan vs Spartan simulations, in the second season there would be stealth/guerrilla based missions against the Banished, in the third season there would be horde modes based around surviving hordes of "posessed" armor cores, etc.

Given now we have a spartan that's been infected by the flood. Who knows what that story could've been. Maybe ONI would've or maybe a warning code: corrupter would've been blasting warning people that a spartan has been infected. And our spartan and wolf pack would go investigate a classified location to only find a dark hallway with bullet casings all over the floor and weapons scattered over but there would be no bodies. And when they enter the room we would've saw. One spartan standing with his back turned against us, and the reveal of the flood returning. That's my guess anyway

Considering the new stuff coming to season 5, and from these cutscenes, I can imagine the story for multiplayer campaign. After the academy is exposed, our Spartan and the others Spartans in the academy are placed under the command of ONI to undertake covert operations against the Banished. These will include a mission to the crystalline caves within the Sangheili moon of Suban, where we work with the Swords of Senghelios against the invading Banished. Things will intensify when we learn that a Spartan fireteam has been infected by the Flood and that containment protocols have failed.

Narrative 3 is the only one I have a problem with. I think it is comical and absurd 4 spartans are getting whooped by a stationary crane game with computer screens as hands. The part with Oni made it seem like they plotted this whole thing and let Iratus have free reign (my guess for the lore of infection gametype). Like Oni and Iratus team up against them. It is crazy they put all this effort into trying to make everything about multiplayer lore instead of making a complete campaign or fix it. I honestly feel like we played act 2 of a"real" campaign that is linear. Like instead of trying to continue Infinite's story they try to add more confusion and loose ends lol.

Yeah i see it as a good thing narratively speaking, the fact that 343i think a banished ai could even do anything with being out numbered by unsc Smart ai 5 to 1, it also makes a major plot hole with the ai taking over Spartan armour, it was never possible before otherwise why not have the Smart AI fight the war instead of having people in the suites.

Iratus was created by humans, it's just that the Banished had captured it and apparently converted it to their side. Also remember that smart AI weren't really dependable at this point considering most of them converted to Cortana's side. The AI in Infinite MP are all dumb AI, not smart. It's less about the AI taking over the armor and more about taking control of the person inside the armor, and that only happens when they die. Sort of like what happened to Master Cheeks at the end of the Halo TV series. My bet is they were probably trying to tie all that together. Even here, Iratus is just taking control of the armor racks and machinery, not really controlling the armor.

I think the cutscenes were cut due to a lot of people having their stats and settings reset everytime loading into the game due to cutscenes not registering that the player has already seen the intro cutscenes and the other ones wouldn't load properly after completing said season.

Halo fans, before Guardians and the mess that was, were invested in the story and lore. Then, Microsoft and 343 completely missed a huge opportunity to use Atriox and the SoF crew along with Red Team, to bring something amazing to the table and fix the universe. But no. We got infinite. And Escharem. And no campaign dlc, no multi-player story, nothing. They just shit on the story and lore just like Star Wars, just like everything else that's had a great story and had it ruined. The only good thing about Infinite’s multiplayer cutscenes was that you got to see your own Spartan in the cutscenes a couple times. Outside of that they were absolute garbage. Worst Spartan characters ever created. Couple of women that look like men and a weak looking old Asian dude. They didn’t look like Spartans at all. They looked like random sci-fi bounty hunters or something. At least Team Osiris from Halo 5 looked good. At least they looked like badass Spartans. At least the women looked like women. At least they looked strong and capable. Glad they stopped wasting dev time on these trash cutscenes.

From what was at the end, it seems the narrative was slayed to be entirely season 3, but was later split and pushed back to season 4 and then a lot of it was scrapped. Shame. If they had kept the pace what it was originally, they would have had a lot of room to be more creative with their stories.

Could they for once just complete a campaign without leaving some sort of cliffhanger that never gets finished in game. We would prefer a campaign dlc or at least all the items needed to make our own.
