Early morning HALO jump from 30,000 feet at West Tenessee Skydiving.

I remember my first HALO jump in 1992. It was the most amazing thing I ever did. The world so so beautiful when you are jumping at 34K ft. The air rushing past your ears is silent because you are just awestruck by the view. I didn't want it to end. Everytime I've made one since then it is just like the first. You can't fully appreciate the view from a video. It isn't scary at all when you are that high. I recommend doing it if you ever have the chance.

Imagine having no parachute and having two minutes to live. Holy fuck.

I was in the 82nd 1966, 1967. The brass would put on shows of our equipment for foreign dignitaries, part of the display was a HALO drop. You would hear the operation over the loud speakers as it unfolded. Then all at once the soud of thunder as the parachutes opened above and the small force would be on the ground right in front of the stands. That's how to sell your power.

Absolutely PERFECT song and Lyrics to this AWESOME vid, Hello my friend we meet again It's been a while where should we begin? Feels like forever Within my heart are memories Of perfect love that you gave to me Oh I remember When you are with me, I'm free I'm careless, I believe Above all the others we'll fly This brings tears to my eyes My sacrifice THAT is what I feel EVERY SINGLE time I go into the AIR, or into the SEA, like being HELD, being CARESSED by the best of FRIENDS who I've been away from for FAR too long.......... Only ever jumped from 16,250, but to be IN that realm for that long ! !😎😎 May sound corny but in flight, that "When you are with me, I'm free" feeling, feels like GOD's benediction

@molassio19894 жыл бұрын
I did that (not a high altitude jump, however) you can barely hear yourself scream, the wind drowns it out. But it is so so so so so fun. I got the adrenaline dump from the initial drop, like a roller coaster, but after, during free fall, to me, it felt more like floating rather than falling. It was actually peaceful. You are high up enough that the ground isn't rushing up at you and you are just in the air. And, you have already made that choice to jump out of a plane, so your fate is what is shall be. I loved every thing about it. Done it twice. When I can go back home, I am doing it again, for sure.

When the chute opens it’s maximum rate of descent is 8 ft per second, which is almost nothing. Regular airborne’s newest chutes are like 18 ft per second and they land soft as hell, most of the time
@MrReasonabubble3 жыл бұрын
120mph is about the terminal velocity of a solo jumper in freefall in a belly-to-earth position. That's the point at which any further potential acceleration is cancelled out by the effect of air resistance. However, it's complicated slightly by the density of the air, which would be considerably less at higher altitudes. Thinner air = less resistance = faster freefall speed. The net effect would be that a jumper exiting at 30,000 feet would accelerate over the course of the first few seconds until he reached the terminal velocity applicable to that altitude - and would then gradually slow down somewhat as he descends into increasingly dense air.

Ok are you stupid or are you a know it all. HALO is a description of the type jump and a lot of people former military, retire etc or just joe civilian want to do it because its rare people get to do it, that includes military free fall jumpers most never get that altitude. The military doesn’t own the title to HALO, or HAHO. In my units most jumps were from 10,000, because of the complexity with oxygen systems and pre breathing, it was more important to jump from 10,000 to get in several jumps both day and night More altitude just means falling time. Stop disrespecting these guys who many of them are retired military free fall jump masters, it’s a skill why not use it.
