If you are on PC and choose the center option for "Chrosshair Position" the targeting reticle will make all guns and vehicles shoot at the center of your screen and you can use the same external reticle for everything.

Got a great checkpoint when fighting the invisible elites..... Checkpoint started as Jun was taking a shot with the sniper so unless I hold down the Analog stick before it loads I get sniped in the back of the head by my ally and die instantly lol

I don't recommend trying to ignore the enemies between the two Tyrant AA guns, I had an elite follow me over the rise and into the next ghost section a couple times, sticking the tank and thereby blowing me up. Just taking my time and using the ledge path you took to target all the enemies worked perfectly. Thanks for the guide, thought that ice section would be impossible on LASO until this.

At 16:50, you can skip all those fighting by sprinting towards the damaged sculpture, hop on it and jump towards the window, and then run towards the elevator.

Fun tip about the vehicle targeting reticule: If you want to use the scotch tape method to (I personally use the small corner of a sticky note) to help with vehicles, you can go into a CE custom game and use it's sniper rifle. Not only does it match up perfectly with Reach's vehicle reticule, but all of MCC's vehicle reticles (as well as Halo 5's weapon/vehicle reticules)

I always stick two bits of paper to the screen for my LASO play. Just use a ghost in custom games to stick the paper where you need for vehicles, as well as the sniper for your weapons.

Got to the end of this mission, died, did the Iron workaround and for some reason it put me back halfway through Long Night of Solace instead. Even though it still said "The Package" in the pause menu and load screen. Did this happen to anyone else? Edit: This also happened to me on The Pillar of Autumn. Very strange.

Hey lad, I have a few questions for you; I'm thinking of going for LASO, never done any before but I have gone through many ultra hard difficulties in games before so I just need some motivation really. The questions are - roughly how long has it taken you to beat various LASO levels, and how many times do you retry on average?

This was my first game I ever tried to do LASO, and I'd say I died probably 10 times each level, with more like 20 on Long Night of Solace. If you follow his guides to the letter, you should be getting about the same deal. Each mission for me was usually 15-20 min longer than his guide, except nightfall, cause, well, yeah lol

why do you stop boarding the wraith to jump off and manually melee the driver? Does doing it in the board mechanic also damage the wraith?

Yeah you wanna keep the wraith as healthy as possible. The wraith driver doesnt attack you so it's not risky unless you jump on top of the mortar itself.

Its far better to use the Grenade Launcher to just EMP the Banshee and keep Sprint imo. Also, Hijack BOTH Banshees. Keep the other banshee safe and tucked away. **This stops Banshee's from respawning but you do have to re-enter the banshee's to stop the empty ones from respawning** As usual, when he says the Banshees rarely attack you, this was absolutely not the case for me lol. Also, did they update the game or is it just me. The ass - tank strat straight up doesn't work for me. Its still an easy section but pls

of cause I got a bugged phantom who didn´t want to drop the wraith...even hat to kill it with the banshee and 2 aditional ones later on, to get the next part to trigger... by the way, I could see the golden elite at ~ 19:00 from the door through the window on the other side of the room and could just shoot him while he wasn´t moving (some of the other elites where still alive he wasn´t triggerted to move forwart)

I keep having an annoying thing happen in the final section: Even if I save and quit instantly when I die, I still get reset to the start of the mission - its happened 4 times now. What causes this trick to sometimes not work?

@@tankbustas Hope it's not to late for you but if this appens again, just start any other playlist just to load another mission, save and quit, then go back and hit resume on the LASO playlist. If it doesn't work the first time do it again but usualy it works right away and you are back at the last check point before you died.

You literally don't know agony until you spend and hour and half on coop on this. And right as you press the final switch your xbox live just loses connection for no fucking reason. I genuinely cannot see from the red haze that has descended over my vision.

No you can't progress to the next part of the mission once you spawn those in. The game becomes soft locked.

So, at the part with the Engineer, i think it’d be better to carry the needle rifle and instead of trading it out for the plasma pistol, you juggle the two, that way you don’t waste so much DMR ammo on the Huragok

Man I saved and quit on this mission and it loaded me back onto oni sword base... close enough I guess (Update) so I know this is a bit late but I’m doing laso run right now so maybe there will be more after me. As seen above my game loaded the mission ONI sword base even though I was on the package and after accepting defeat I decided to finish it and start from there again after finishing the mission I got credit for beating the package and loaded into the pillar of autumn. So if this happens to you don’t panic just beat the sword base and you’ll start right back where you should be. Good luck Spartans!

you can get rid of both banshees in the firefight by boarding both and leaving them somewhere where they wont get destroyed

Yes you can blow up the phantom with the wraith. It only takes like 8 hits. Aim at the engines if you know what I mean. I went back to where you suggested hiding the wraith, but before Halsey made her comment. This way the phantom was just chillin' there doing nothing. I learned this from ProACEjoker's video where he brings a fuelrod and carrys a rocket and shoots 10 fuelrods and 2 rockets to destroy 2 of the phantoms. It will end the mission early because they arent there to drop off enemies. It has to be certain phantoms at certain times for it to make a difference. But what you can do, is shoot the ghosts dead before they drop from the phantom. Only thing is, i got hit a few times with it's concussion shells. Save your boost when driving under the phantom, until it begins to fire and then just book it to that corner hiding spot.

At 12:40, if you didn't get enough fuel rod ammo or want to save it, you can wait for noble team to shoot at the jackals and stagger them, then pick them off with a headshot. It should be pretty safe, if you do it at a good angle, since the jackals are mostly distracted by noble team. I did this to save some fuel rod ammo in the next section where you pick up the plasma pistol, and juggled it over. Not at all necessary, but options are fun :D side note: if you did take the fuel rod to the next section, make sure to pick up a plasma pistol in it's place after you kill the gold elite, as you'll probably want it later to take out the elite in the wraith turret.

At the Engineer, juggle the needle rifle. It takes two super combines to kill it and makes things a bit easier.

You can also just headshot the engineer with the DMR. Its a small target but you have a crate of DMR ammo right behind you.

This is only LASO level I’ve ever done. My wraith got busted before the final wave so that last bit was mostly me hiding in the rocks watching Emile fistfight Elites until their shields broke and I could headshot them.

You can also take a Revenant from near the area where the Scorpion was initially located to take it through the gates inside the base exterior. Edit: Oh nvm, that's useless since you're just strolling through inside immediately Anyway, here's a proper tip, you can use the hologram ability to take out the Jackals with shields on the stairs Also, here's another tip, once you make it to the place with the Engineer and the camoflauged Elite Spec Ops, switch the plasma pistol to the plasma repeater (or whatever it was) on the ground near the gate. It does the same trick as the pistol but faster. As for the Elite General, I found a neat trick: if you have the Fuel Rod Cannon and plenty of ammo, you can knock him off the ramp behind it, where he will attempt to back onto the ramp. As he's mid air, you can blast him with the cannon to knock him back until he's dead and he can't do anything while you're doing it.

Just use two tape reticles lol.I take a small square of electric tape, cut it diagonally into triangles, put one pointing up with the point at the center of the sniper reticle, the other pointing down to the center of the turret / vehicle reticle. Fantastic guides tho!

Hipdotshot. You forget you are playing blind. Be sure to use the transparent dots and create both FPS and vehicle radical. Just move dot up and down as needed 😉

For those 2 annoying jackals I like to use a hologram as a distraction then run underneath the catwalk they're on. You can melee them through the floor when they're in the center of the catwalk, regaining shield and being totally safe whilst doing it. If they press to the wall simply use the hologram to lure them back to the center

You could, you'll really want to stay far away and legit snipe Bomb them though. The banshee is pretty weak health wise so you dont want to take much fire or risk getting stunned.

In most of your guides, there are sections in which noble team is fighting along side you and you say something like "you really don't even have to do anything in this fight if you don't want to. You can just stay in the corner and noble team will do everything." Is that the same for this battle at the end of the mission? If you were to start the encounter by running to the base, and turning on a turret or 2, would there be a place to go and sit and let noble team do everything? I know that would take for ever, but I think it would make this even easier. Anyone have any info or experience with this?

I was thinking about that, but figured having the wraith and just bombarding the hill from far away isnt too tough and speeds it up drastically. I'd say where I hide with the wraith in between spawns would be a good spot. Only thing youd wanna watch out for is phantoms shooting you when bringing in reinforcements.

Thank god MCC is on PC now, because you can center your reticle for all weapons and vehicles, and also most gaming monitors have built in reticle settings. I can just turn that on and it's like I still have a reticle aha
