I cannot begin to imagine what effect this movie and its soundtrack would have had on someone's mindset toward technology and government back in 1984.. It would have been so so so ahead of its time, that it would've had an eery effect on anyone who watched it, especially those who were scientifically and creatively minded..

You truly understand how vangelis made the music of bladerunner. When I watched the original film, the music, sounds, and ambiance all mixed together in a symphony of emotion. Vangelis said he made the music just by playing what the scene made him felt in the moment.

This is quickly becoming one of the soundtracks I’ve listened to the most. I have suffered from insomnia for about 3 decades, and this music just is perfect. I love it whether I’m awake or trying to sleep. Such depth, clarity, motion, emotionality and just an amazing mood. Perfectly encapsulates the mood of the film and stands on its own as a beautiful work of art.

"enhancing" ? Thats an exaggeration .. These remixes are good, but does not reach the same level as Vangelis's original tracks by far ... Nothing can "enhance" the original tracks, Vangelis's works for Blade Runner was mind bogglingly beautiful.. The more appropriate terms would be "adding to" ... there are always great new tracks inspired by the original tracks created by talented new musicians ...

for the most part i find the internet to be an immense collection of random garbage, full of hate, violence, anger, unnecessary vitriol...but then every once in a while - not often enough! - i stumble upon something stunningly creative, or beautiful, captivating, truly awe-inspiring, or one thing that embodies all of those things at once. i've been enthralled with vangelis' blade runner soundtrack since its initial release. i've listened to it thousands of times. it has helped me cope with so much life throws at me. and i've invested hundreds of hours listening to other soundtracks/scores, alternative mixes, etc. still, surprises can happen. i stumbled upon this and what else can i say, this work leaves me incredulous and restores my faith in at least a small percentage of humanity. or in the common vernacular, you killed it. worthy of the highest praise, as demonstrated by so many other commenters on this page. well done!

The part at 2:31 where we hear Rachael: "Do you like our Owl?" followed by the eerie suspenseful music that has been superbly mixed here really gets to me because I can finally feel what Deckard felt when Wallace tempted him. Here is a man who fell in love with someone he was not supposed too. A forbidden love that had ramifications for many people. And to save both his daughter and Rachael he leaves because that was his part in the plan. After thirty years of solitude- hiding away from those that want to kill him- he comes face to face with his worse nightmare; the type of man he knew would come after him and his child. In that moment- when Wallace plays the Voight-Kampff test that he used on Rachael all that time ago- you can see it in his eyes and- at least for me- you can feel it in this music. He remembers that events that led up to him having to leave her, and eventually lose her. "Is it the same now, as then? The moment you met her. All these years, drunk on the memory of its perfection..." -- Niander Wallace to Deckard.

"I want more life" How did it suddenly become November 2019? That date somehow seemed so distant when I first watched Blade Runner in the 80's, while I was in college. I want to go back in time and tell that young guy a few things, maybe leave him a note with advice ... which suddenly occurs to me is a very "Twilight Zony" idea, like when Gig Young re-visited his hometown and discovered it was the summer when he was eleven. (Thank you for the sublime video.)
@TheSupaaMan5 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Corrochio what would you tell that guy?
@eduardo_corrochio5 жыл бұрын
@@TheSupaaMan I'd want to say don't worry about being gay or about how people might react to your coming out ... concern yourself with being a decent person-- it matters more that you like _yourself_ rather than how others feel about you. Also: stop spending so much on cigarettes, and on booze. Give those up, and stay in control. Take that money and instead buy some stuff which you'll save for the time being and eventually sell on a computer auction house so that you can retire comfortably. (I'd have a list of items prepared that will eventually become extremely valuable to collectors). Finally, if anyone in your life seems toxic, just cut them out completely. Life's too short for drama and misery. Trust your gut instinct, and dump friends or family who always create, or thrive on, trouble.

Only if Ridley is doing it and he makes it magical and sweet again like the original. Tonally the edgy sequel didn't feel like the original concept. They really blew it in that department despite BR2049 being a good movie all in all. When does Hollywood learn that when you dial up the dark and gritty too much it loses relatability and people feel detached to the story and characters because of that. Its just annoying and jarring especially when the blue print was better in every possible way especially the music
@philipclayberg49284 жыл бұрын
@@NoOne-uh9vu Ridley Scott is probably quite busy (and no doubt Denis Villeneuve also is). And not exactly getting any younger, either. Time isn't kind even to geniuses like Scott and Villeneuve. Things take time, if you're going to do your best. And while you're doing one thing, you can't do another. Unless you stop the first one (or put it on hold), and then start the second one. Sequels don't always reach the heights of the original movie (or book, for that matter). I would say that "The Empire Strikes Back" is one of the rare times when the sequel was equal or (dare I say it) even better than the original. Had Ridley directed "Blade Runner 2049", maybe more fans would've liked it, maybe not. It just depends. The first "Blade Runner" movie flopped in the movie theaters (my late father and I saw it in 1982 and we liked it, but I don't recall the theater having a lot of people in it), just like "2001" did back in 1968 and "Metropolis" did in 1927. It was only later, when people realized how great the movie was and then it reached the status it deserved. Of course, rentals and sales of the movie on VHS tape helped the movie to avoid disappearing into a "hole" and being forgotten.
