Just wondering, Chris, is the wiring for the BT 7 plus different than the wiring on the Paradigm? (I .you asked Martha for the instruction sheet). We are in the process of buying the 370fb, but the dealership and the service department are hedging on the install of both the camera and the side marker cameras. Please address the wire differences. I really liked your install video! Thank you!

Hello Sue, Thank you for watching our video and supporting our channel. We really appreciate the support it means a lot to us. The wiring on the BT 7 was not different then the way that Alliance has them wired. I grabbed the instructions to determine if I wanted to wire in the “Reverse wire” from the BT7. That wire when it goes “Hot” will automatically kick on the camera. I decided to not use it and I control what and when I see the camera. If I were to have used it I would have had to add a wire and tap into the electrical system and it definitely is not worth the effort. A side note to install the BT7 truly is hooking up a power wire and a ground wire and drilling two holes with self tapping screws. We decided to get the side cameras and the over the door camera so those will be a later install once they arrive. We are still very impressed with the camera.

I'm leaning towards this camera as well. What year is your GM tow vehicle? Mine is a 2022 Chevy 2500HD and trailer is a Grand Designs pre-wired for the Furrion. I've read that some folks are having issues with the newer Chevys and GMs with regard to low voltage due to LED lighting. I'm worried the camera will not get enough voltage and therefore will not work. Any info od insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Superdukedotnet, Thank you for the support and watching our video. We have a 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500. We have not had any problems with the camera system. We now have the back up camera and side marker cameras and all function perfectly. The BT7 is extremely easy to install (Power and ground wire) and has the functionality to automatically turn on and off if you want to wire in the extra features. We chose not to and control the on and off manually instead of the trucks turn signals and reverse.

Thanks for this. BIG question: How did you finally mount the monitor inside your pickup? I hate drilling my dash and suction cups are a pain on dicey roads.

It would have been nice to see what color wires you connected to the camera... I know Alliance uses red for positive and white for ground or negative... What colors did you use for the green wires?

You don't say in the video which wires to connect together.The camera has a red, black and green. My Alliance has a white and a red. What wires did you connect to each other? Thanks!

Hey Steve, thank you for watching our video and supporting our channel. We did not connect the green wire. Red went to the trailer positive and black to the trailer negative or ground. The green wire is not needed, we just put a twist nut on it and put tape around it.

if the camera is dependent on 12v from running lights how do you have power when its not hooked to your tow vehicle ?

Thank you for watching our video and supporting our channel. You can bring the monitor into the trailer and hook it to a 12V inside. There are cigarette lighter adapters that it can be plugged into. You would need a fuse or 7 way plug adapter to activate your running lights to utilize the cameras. Then the system would work as a recorder and monitor.

Did you use anything else besides screws to anchor the camera? If so, what did you use? If not, how well do the screws hold in the azdel walls?

We used self tapping screws directly into the Azdel walls. I then backed the screws out and put silicone in the screw holes. I then mounted the camera back using the rubber gasket. Once the camera was in place I ran silicone around the perimeter of the camera. We have not had any movement issues or leaking.

On the Haloview web site there is a note that the recommended distance from the camera to the monitor should not exceed 33 ft. As my trailer is 27ft long and then the distance to the tow vehicle to the dash would be over this distance. It appears your trailer is even longer, so is this recommendation by Haloview something that can be ignored or do I need some sort of booster>

Hey Don, thank you for watching our video and supporting our channel. Our trailer is 38’ and our truck is 22’. When we got the Byte Tango 7 they told us it was good for up to 984’ but recommended on trailer up to 65’. When we tested it we drove away from the trailer far exceeding the 984’ and was stunned with how long it stayed connected. You will not have any problems with the Byte Tango 7.

I COULDN’t agree more. Haloview has been a game changer for me. Plus their customer support is fantastic. I have a unique setup, I have two Haloview mounted INSIDE the rear window. One is the CA108 camera as a rear view and piggybacked under that is the CA109 looking down so I can see my rear bumper. I had to disable the IR lights with the glass,but the camera is so good, even with a streetlight there’s plenty of light to see. Tech support even made a mock-up to see how I’d like the setup. 5stars!
