@F1ntros5 жыл бұрын
@@snehalnaid533 Literally, lol. If we're talking about actual vocal ability Halsey is a FAR superior singer. But again, it's very subjective, so each to their own.
@TheLutastic5 жыл бұрын
@@AngelaQi I don't think her voice is super fantastic but I actually think it's relatively unique based on the technique she uses. Halsey can't actually vibratto so she has to do it 100% with her jaw which does sound distinct. However, that actually means she lacks the vocal ability and is compensating for the skill she doesn't have that most singers do, in another way that works for her. So I'm proud of her.

Okay, I love Halsey to death, but did anyone read the description? "Halsey is know for her collaboration with the Chainsmokers on 'Closer'..." Ummm, hell no. She originally gained a lot of popularity from her song Ghost, then New Americana and a lot of her songs from Room 93 and Badlands are *extremely* popular (And that collab with Justin Bieber), she didn't suddenly become famous because of Closet. I might be over reacting, but I just feel as if the description is completely wrong
@xavierbenages87348 жыл бұрын
Savannah is amazing yeah that's right, but the Nobel awards probably only hired her bc of Closer, it's literally so heart breaking knowing that most of ppl dont even know who she is unless u play Closer, but yeah ur right Ghost was what made her go viral on SoundCloud and what made her get contracts so its so bothering that they only said shes famous bc of Closer, there's Ghost (I love the 1 mic 1 take version😍), Colors, New Americana and Control and others. 20:1 on Halsey's jacket is a subtle call out of the process choosing Nobel Peace prize recipients, 20:1 ratio of men to women winners historically. Hope they get the wakeup call...time for equality everywhere....try to teach my daughters they can succeed every chance i get, but truth is we need more changes for it to be real.
@Psilio5 жыл бұрын
I'm from Norway (the country that gives out the Nobel Peace Price every year), and I think that they're doing a good job with selecting winners (they get 1 million dollars, btw), but like you said, far too few women has been awarded the price since it was introduced, and the "20:1" on the back of her leather jacket raised some eye-brows here. But the guys who choose the winners (they're a team from all over the world) have no opinion of whether the winners are female or not. Or so they tell us (Norwegians). Anyway, i loved it when Malalah won the prize the year after this, if i remember correctly. Edit: I just saw her acceptance speech, and she (Malalah) won in 2014: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpnbYZSgnsqAaa8

Ashley Rafferty precisely because of that. That's what the 20:1 jacket stands for, because that's the ratio of all male to female recipients of this prestigious honour.
@Oddme1008 жыл бұрын
+Hibah Mirza Chughtai Which is very natural as the Nobel Prizes have been awarded for a long time and women rarely took higher education or took part in politics in the past. These prizes mostly goes to people who've spent their entire lives to achieve something. This means that most of the recipients are old, which means it's still going to be mostly male recipients for years to come. Average age of the recipients this year was 70.63 years old. Western women of that generation did not have the same opportunities as men. Today, it's said that more western women than men take higher education. However in parts of the world women are hardly getting any education. She said she will donate money for education for women, that's great. Yet, it should be noted that the effects of education for women today won't be that noticeable in the Noble Prizes for many years.
