2016 nope. let me explain backtracks to you. they’re there for insurance/to do the bulk of the work. it’s a regular thing for singers with physical performances. the reason you hear live sounds is because her mic is still on. this is the case with almost all lip synching. i said the performance was impressive either way, because it is, but people who think she’s doing all of this at once without lip synching are just wrong.

I watched this performance live back in the winter of 2019 on the West Coast and was just blown away by Halsey's vocal and artistic talent. She deftly and confidently sketched her Eastside girl friend while also singing the song perfectly in three and a half minutes; with time to spare. This Feb 10th, 2019 SNL musical guest was, in my opinion, one of my favorite TV performances of 2019. Way to crush it, Halsey!

she is one of those people who leave a deep impression on the lives of others, especially mine. i didn't really notice them at first but after two songs and videos i had to see more and i fell in love with them straight away. it's just nice to hear her sing and see her in her videos and know that she's happy.
