Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but, didn't Dr. Halsley look for certain genetic markers for the candidates. Could those markers have been gene songs hidden by the Librarian. In multiple books Kelly, Fred and Linda have stated the the Covent language seems oddly familiar to them. And the last time I checked the Covenant used Forerunner language albeit twisted with there religious rhetoric. Although I could be wrong.

Would makes sense as in halo4 didnt the librarian say he wasn’t ready yet and pretty much speed up his evaluation. It would make sense that if it takes generations for things to play out correctly, that other would have the gene songs.

It would also explaint the conversation between Halsey and Thorn in spartan ops, where Thorn suspected that Halsey believed that Spartan IV's were not fit to take the place of II's. If that is on purpose, it might've been to hint to the fact that the geas imprint is something that has gone completely under the radar of everyone involved.

This is some serious quality content... I haven't played Halo in over a decade. The best version of a Forerunner Fortress ship would be Flood-War era 100 KM veraion. This would be chock-full of smaller ships (at least 25000 picket ships IIRC) tons of weapons ranging from fortress-planet killers to anti-fighter hardlight turrets and is crammed full of war machines like War Sphinxes, Seekers, Sentinels, Prometheans and their drones, and automated weapon-ships. The thing could likely carry between tens to a hundred war sphinxes, and the ones 10,000 years earlier in the Human-Forerunner Warv the onez 10 millennia OUTDATED, two of those could combine and have enough power to waste or uproot an entire continent according to the books. And that is just two war sphinxes. Tens of thousands of those continent-wasters and loads of planetcracker frigates (which the Forerunners did have) with millions of hyper-agile and hyper-accurate autonomous weapon ships, it could overwhelm the Craftworld if they hit it in the right place. Now on to the Craftworld: Craftworlds are planetoid-ships, thousands of kilometers long at the very least and having an escort of millions of warships (BFG Armada 2 is the best example of visual scale) and not only is it absolutely bristling with weaponry of all kinds due to essentially being one of only a few mobile homeworlds full of irreplaceable tech and cultural artifacts and ecosystems and stuff, with a ton of people from a dying civilization. A psychic civilization. If the Forerunners can stay out of the effective range or if their tech can withstand Eldar psychic sorcery BS long enough for the Fortress ship to make a killshot. There's also the issue of Farseers, who can see the Future.

Halsey jumped humanity ahead a absolute minimum 100 years technologically from Halsey simply existing. She needs to be the Librarians Geas. It makes sense and I hope infinite will actually bring all the dope book lore into the damn game. Quit trying to surprise people or change shit because fans guessed right. We guess shit right because it’s written well so we figure it out, changing it to surprise people is gay. It ruins stories and I hope infinite brings all the lore in and brings it to happen almost exactly as we think things will. Cortana logic plague, these geas existing, the mantle of Responsibility concept being embraced/explained to all of UNSC/humanity not just john117 and Halsey and Cortana. Lean into the lore, put it in infinite, don’t change obvious stuff that’s likely just cuz it’s likely. It’s poetic it rhymes and ultimately how the conflict will eventually pan out is waaaaay up for debate and mcguffins came be made to even the sides of flood/ai vs everyone else. Lean into the lore enough to by the end of infinite, fully define the sides, humanity and elites become formal extremely close allies as well as with hunters and other races. See traces of it towards end of campaign then in the big DLCs or next game have the war/battle begin to play out that way because how it goes from there is anyone’s guess. But get the damn lore into the damn game in a understandable way so that everyone who plays knows the fucking lore so when they say chief is the isodidact people won’t be like I thought I killed a dude named Didact in Halo 4? 343 industries please God just get the lore into the fucking game not hidden in fucking terminals. The story is so cool. Open world game sounds fun, Halo campaigns are going from enemy outpost to enemy outpost a lot anyway so it makes sense. But Jesus, use the fucking filler travel time between them to have story, don’t make enemy encounters in Halo a fucking chore we have to do ok? We want to kill people, but not when it’s a fucking checkbox at some point ok?

It's a Halo short story collection in novel form. It doesn't fully dump the idea, but it does seem to make Bornstellar less relevant to the modern era, I guess? We'll have to see... (he is in two stories - one early on, and an untitled one at the end)

Hello, I wanted to ask a question. But I wasn't sure where to post this. I guess I could've gone over to the discord page but I can't figure out how to navigate there. During one of the Spartan Ops episodes where Halsey meets the Librarian, where she gives Halsey the 'Janus Key', she tells her to take this key to the "Absolute Record". To study it there and use her findings to further advance human race. Where is this 'Absolute Record'? because it seems like they both knew of it's location. And if you follow that through. Which I think could open up a lot of info. That means Halsey for sure now knows exactly where to find all of the Mendicants parts! Among other areas of interest!!!

i have a small thought on the blown-up part of installation of 07 what if the part that was torn apart housed the flood stored there i mean besides a few ships in the elite/ human fleets any flood spores are the only other threat to Cortana i know there is a hint or theory of her having the logic plage but we do not know the full effects ( to my knowledge ) of how the logic plage would effect a AI like Cortana after the flood is gone if the plage is meant to turn AIs to the flood

I have a question. Do you think we are living a halo like universe, or living the halo universe? Because we have the capability now, now as in right now, to start working on technology that would lead to halo like technology. Then you have star hopper if it succeeds, and we start colonizing by 2020 through 2024. Then after 50, or so years we would probably start working on colonizing the asteroid belt,and venus. After that probably 100 years from now, or then have colonized out post around Jupiter, and satren. Also in the near future once the USA space force becomes workable, then it could act as a foundation. Then you have people already working on a world wide government. I can go on, but that enough for now.

This is so cool! It got me thinking also, because in the Halo novel Primordium (SPOILERS) 343 Guilty Spark took control of the UNSC vessel that had been studying him because he recently found new information that would suggest that the Librarian was alive and knew where to find her. I was thinking, what if this is true because he discovered that Halsey and in turn Cortana have the Geas of the Librarian, and is thus seeking either of them to try and unlock that geas. Could it mean in the future we see Guilty Spark return to interact with Cortana and Chief to unlock their gene songs to awaken the Librarian and the IsoDidact for some purpose we don’t know yet?? Thoughts?

I think the Librarian didn't quite anticipate Halsey coming out the way she did. She's ruthless, stoic, cold, and lacks the Librarian's compassion. Even Cortana wasn't all that much like the Librarian, she cares for John but that's about it. They're entirely different personalities. John, although, has a few more traits in common with Bornstellar. He keeps to himself, but aires authority. He's merciful when he can be, and shows genuine remorse in killing civilians.

People say that Chief and Cortana can't have so deep connection after only knowing each other for so short time. However maybe if they really are (at least on some level) the representation of two soul mates Librarian and Didact... Then it makes more sense why they connected so well. Also remember how the primordial corrupted the original Didact? In the same way Gravemind had it's part in leading Cortana to rampancy.

I would have liked to see a full season of the TV show go over the start of the program mostly following Halsey to give the audience the full picture of how chief came to be. They could have had the Spartans fighting on Reach and flashing back to training and the program inception to give us backstory.
