It's funny how as kids, we'd think stuff like "grown ups are better than us cuz they've lived longer, which obviously means they would've made more out of opportunities in life than we have, cuz we haven't lived that long yet". Cuz as a kid, your mind hasn't yet been exposed to the toxic reality. The child's mind which only knows all the diverse opportunities/ways of achieving success + happiness, all nice things that life has to offer us. I mean for real, the worst fears kindergarteners have would be, losing teeth, monsters under bed, scary silhouettes in dark, etc. Not lack of self acceptance, failing in life, losing interest in everything, financial struggles, etc. Not realizing the harsh sides of reality, it leads to not having the need to fight the negative aspects of life. Children are the personifications of "ignorance is bliss". I don't know specifically how or when, but I went from "I'm going to be a scientist, whose hobby is fashion designing, who also rescues abandoned animals and helps everyone by being their life coach" to "I wish I could just love myself". But hey, at least we aren't alone in this ride ["w"] If you've read this far, then here is a fun quote whose origins I've forgotten: "You've believed in Santa Claus, Tooth fairy, Unicorns and Angels for several years of your childhood. Hence if you try hard enough, you can believe in yourself for one whole minute."
