The comparisons are so much more informative then stand alone reviews tbh

I really like making them too. It's interesting to do the side by sides. Let me know if there are others!

Personally I prefer Oud for Greatness to Haltane. However, I wore Detour Eco yesterday. I find it easier to wear that Oud for Glory.

Thank you for the insightful video! Including the more affordable clones in your comparison was a brilliant idea, making high-quality fragrances accessible to everyone.

12:35 the way your testing each is probably why, i like to take in between breaths to ease the one i smelled previously, so the next one wont be effected. When testing multiple fragrances i do that cus when you smell one too close to the other it'll affect the next fragrance, depending how strong the scent is will effect even more, so more time is needed. I think this is probably related to the same thing that make our brain cut a percentage of a fragrance when wearing them through the day, i cant explain exactly why lol.

@@p1nkboy984 could totally be the case. I'm also outside, so fragrances don't hang as much around. I also do edit out some of the prolonged sniffing back and forth, think I trimmed about 3 minutes out where I'm saying nothing and just going back and forth. So it's probably a little of both? I have been surprised though at things like the Absolu Aventus and Precieux I, because they smell quite different to me on the strip, but when I wear them, they smell a lot more similar. Talking about smells is such a funny challenge, I appreciate the suggestions, because I'd like what I say to be useful. Thanks!
@joesmellsgood3 ай бұрын
@@p1nkboy984 it's also entirely possible that I somewhat cross contaminated them in my highly unscientific experiment 🤣. I thought about cutting it just because I wasn't sure if it would even be useful to the viewer but then I remembered my experience with Aventus and it's clones and thought it may be useful because frags can smell different up close, but much more similar once they are in the air more. That's probably a bit of a downside to filming all these outdoors, a bit more of an uncontrolled environment

@@joesmellsgood yep lol, the de marly fragrance probably digged a bunch into some of the others i imagine XD

i also like to take care of not rubbing the paper on the nose, this will definately change some perception a lot.

imagine a tiny fraction of a kerosene fragrance rubbed into the nose while trying various scents XD

Great video brother! I'm a fan of all of these DNA's, although Haltane gets the most wear from me... at least until I get Eco out of my maturation drawer LOL HOWEVER, I think Mancera Eternal Wood is going to be the best of the bunch... it takes BLATANT inspiration from both of these DNA's (Oud for Greatness and Haltane) with an added toffee sweetness in the base. I have it in testing for my review, and so far I'm really impressed!

Funny Im wearing Haltane for the first time today as I watch this. It's good if you like this scent profile. I wore Thameen's Carved Oud yesterday. Hard to pick my favorite so far. I picked up PDM's Herod same time as I got Haltane, although not an Oud scent it is arguably my favorite PDM

I actually think that the lattafa and the initio are extremely similar. And I prefer them to Haltane, because they are "less polished". Never tried the Eco

@@kristofraemdonck yeah, I think you have it right there. I mean, I think I still prefer Haltane, but credit to Lattafa for doing the same thing as initio at a significant discount

The thumbnail looks great! I would probably put it on the left side though if you don’t want it to be blocked by the KZbin video time label or whatever it’s called. Today I tested a cologne called Gingham Legend from Bath and Body Works and it smelled just like what I remember Pert Plus shampoo smelling like when I was a kid…which I actually freaking love. I put it on one shoulder, and two Maison Margella fragrances “After the Rain” and “Bubble Bath” or something like that on one wrist and the other shoulder. I wanted to try three similar soapy clean scents and compare them. The B&BW was my favorite though. I swear, some of their colognes are nothing to sleep on. “Canyon” is no slouch either.
