"He puts his nose in for the hay" 😍 haha cute lil baby. I wonder how long he'd stay there with his lil nose in the halter waiting for hay like ☺️🤤

This is excellent. My Devils Garden Gelding was a 2020 Gather also at 23 years old. Travler is a Red Roan #6157 gathered in January. I just got him he is 25. His previous owner used a rope halter and led him from pen to pasture on a regular basis. He is afraid of Nylon halters. I am his 3rd owner. I am experienced, but at 63 very cautious. I will be putting up a round pen . I will be watching your videos. It would be a dream to ride him. It is an honor to have him. I have a 22 yr old Mustang Mare. I trained her. Great trail horse. She has EMS so can't ride.

Just curious I thought you had a grassy area outside the pen in previous videos. Do they not have a place to graze anymore? No grass? He’s a real beauty and seems very smart.

They tore all the grass up during the winter. The front pasture is still grass, but they aren't allowed up there when the grass is dormant. We are in the process of cross-fencing and will re-plant when we can keep them off it.

I have enjoyed watching your transformation from when you first started with Chance. I am going try this with my 4yr mare. I love how descriptive you are and that you explain the positive and negative for certain behaviors

Thank you.I can see this will take some days-you are amazing -thank you-this is my third filly that is untouched -i can brush all over -started brushing her with hay and then feeding it-before bucket of feed and she could feel fingers holding edge of bucket-few days later pet cheeks then up behind ears then ears then down forelock down face-8 days-now trying halter and she went for it strait away=off and on just over eyes -thank you how wonderful have seen Shelby Dennis do this for months with some

I have a 3 year old feral mare that my parents bought from a friend and im worried her previous bad experiences with humans may cause her to see me as bad as well. Admittedly ive clearly made some mistakes since i hadnt found your videos yet and didnt really know what to do, so i want to ask, would this whole process still be possible if i restarted completely? She also came with a halter already put on, so im not sure how to approach this. Should i take it off and restart her on it? She has a 5 month old baby that she's started to wean, so idk if thats an issue

I used to deal with horses that would bolt when being released into pasture dangerously. I'd put two halters on them take one halter almost off holding the one that's still on there. They would try to bolt but would be pulled back by the other halter, after doing this many times I could take the 2nd halter off with them standing still I could then walk away as they walked calmly away
