It's got a suprising turn of speed for such a dinky little thing! Lovely scenery.

It really is, the camera being low does help with that but it is a fantastic line in a brilliant park.

Brilliant video! Another line I'd love to visit!

This one is well worth a visit, the park land the train runs in is stunning and you get up close with the public on the footpaths for a lot of the loop too.

It's nice to speak to somebody that used to work here, the people there at the minute are fantastic and the fact that the tickets are donation based means they don't price anybody out regardless of background or situation (I find that really nice). I have always enjoyed my visits here, my 2 year old daughter loves it too which always helps

@@TheTouristLine it is a nice scenic run, I'm glad that magnet was strong! I was worried the camera would fall off.

Thanks for a great video. Thats a fantastic little railway. Reminds me of when I was a kid. We used to go to Blackpool for hols. There was a narrow gauge railway somewhere near. Used to be driven by (whos now called) a little person. Brings back fond memories, thanks

I have been trying to think of where the railway could have been, it's not the one actually in the Pleasure Beach is it?
@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa40643 жыл бұрын
@@TheTouristLine I'm not sure. To be honest it's about 50 years ago now, so I just can't remember fully as I was only 8 at that time. I can just remember going on it. Know it was fun. Cheers Kevin

It is a fantastic railway, I have just been back in autumn and the park looked spectacular!

I remember going on these trains when I was little and there is a particular section of the route where Norton Water Tower is very close up and you can see it towering over some trees if you turned back wish someone would capture it on video.
@TheTouristLine3 жыл бұрын
When I went to visit last I was actually wondering if the entire loop could be run in reverse. I don't believe it can but like you say, sometimes the best thing are when you are looking the other way. I will ask the question when they are next running and see if it is something they can do.
@AdamDawson33 жыл бұрын
@@TheTouristLine Can you try and get some footage of Norton Water Tower next time you take this train I think it can run in reverse but not so sure why not take the train on the same route but film the opposite way

The horn on the loco reminds me of *Woody Woodpecker* and his trademark laugh! That track width looks to be about 10 or 11 inches across. Ultra-narrow gauge. Honestly if they keep leaving their locos, carriages and tracks so long in the wash, they'll be able to pack them away in matchboxes! LOL
@TheTouristLine2 жыл бұрын
It is even smaller than you are thinking, this one is 7 1/4 gauge, true miniature railway. The camera gives it a sense of speed and size but it really is a fantastic loop in a lovely park
@neilforbes4162 жыл бұрын
@@TheTouristLine If they get any narrower, they'll become a *monorail!* LOL

Just one qtn The name of this Halton narrow gauge railway is that on the outskirts of Warrington Like Halton village ( town is ? 🤔 )

Hi, this is the Halton just between Warrington and Runcorn, it is in Town Park

Is the driver lying on his stomach (drivers eye cab view)?
@TheTouristLine3 жыл бұрын
It was in front of him but slightly lower to not obscure his view. The wide angle lens gives it an appearance of being lower but this is in essence what the driver would see. Miniatures don't give many options for a safe place without getting in the drivers way 👍

SLOW DOWN! Fantastic route but you go so FAST you can hardly see the scenery! Go HALF as fast for a TWENTY-MINUTE run!
@TheTouristLine2 жыл бұрын
The camera makes it look a lot faster than it is, but honestly being there it is the perfect journey length
