Kaifi Azmi Sahab also was the most awarded poet as well as lyricist of his time. His huge contribution to Indian cinema is immeasurable with his poignant lyrics adorning timeless classics. He was selflessly committed for a social change for which he preached and practised in his lifetime. Kar chale hum fid a jaano tan saathiyon is the best song, best lyrics. This was certainly true for many of Amitabh and Rajesh Khanna films. Where Mohd Rafi had a single song yet outclassed all other songs from the film. Haathi Mere Saathi Shehzada Humshakal Bundalbaaz Phir Wohi Raat Suraag Rajput Zanjeer Abhiman Be-naam Muqaddar Ka Dikandar Desh Premee etc

Roshan’s talent has certainly been under appreciated. One such song is sung by Talat Mehmood, performed on screen by Raj Kapoor, and is superb - Main Dil Hoon Ek Armaan Bhara. Stupendous song in every facet thereof, but the foundation and surprises are all in its music. As for Anokhi Raat, two superb artists there. Of which one got halfway the recognition he deserved, Sanjeev Kumar. But Parikshit Sahni never got the recognition or even fair chances. He deserved far better.
