Bringing my back to my childhood. I can smell the inside of those scopes as you showed them Randy 😂. They sure don't make electronics like that anymore

I lived in Grass Valley in the 90's. When I told people I lived there, they asked "Work for Grass Valley Group?" No, at TDK in Nevada City. Fun times. That is a beautiful area. I would love to move there but I could not afford the real estate now.

Diamond K400 mount and Diamond screwdriver antenna! Works well! Thankfully I have a 10 foot tall garage door and only the whip tips(SG7900NMO also on opposite side) bend going in. Fast food drive thru's... I trashed the lights at a local Burger King twanging the antennas off them I have used tek scopes for years, started in high school, then my career repairing electronics... at one point I had this massive 400mhz rack mount scope, R7603 that came from a nuke testing lab as surplus. Awesome scope but way to big after I downsized and retired!

Good Morning ,I really enjoy your channel. I just received my FCC license this past Monday. I have a handheld Ham Radio and my friend who lives about 2 hours away programmed it for me using his computer. I don't have a computer and trying to program it is like pulling teeth. Is there a hand-held radio where I can put it on scan and it stops when someone talks and I can lock that channel in? Programming new stations in this handheld is a pain. Would you recommend just letting him program them in even though he's 2 hours away or can you recommend a handheld where I can scan and find channels. I'm in North Carolina. Thank you. Your channel has been so helpful for me and we do certainly appreciate it.

Josh, Bluesky is basically Twitter from 10 or 15 years ago. It's friendly as heck, and there's a growing ham radio community. Come on over!

I'd rather use something that syndicates properly with the rest of the Fediverse, such as a Mastodon instance.

@@lua-nya I use Mastodon too. I love Masto! BUT... a lot of folks who might not be willing to jump into Masto will be willing to try Bluesky.
