After the flood my parents where stranded for 3 days with no way to call out. We all bought UB5R radios but none of us know enough about radios to reach out of their holler much less far enough to actually get any help

Cool video, showing how amateur radio works. We should try 40 meters sometime. Base is set up here at home and I am always monitoring 146.610 repeater here in Corbin. W4WXR is the call, if you can get into the repeater holler. We would love to have QSO sometime. I am working on putting up my 80 meter wire and we should have no problem working each other on that band. 73 for now. -Tony w /Po Boy Adventures.
