HamSphere is great practice as I used it extensively while working on passing my exams…it helped me become a contester and really helped me for POTA.

Glad you got it worked out. I remember an April issue of QST in the 60s that had a April Fools day article about how AT&T was proposing to eliminate hams from being on the "air" with radios and have them use unused long distance lines to talk with each other. It was very silly but raised a big ruckus with a lot of members of our local club. I have never been able to find a reprint of it. 73 MJ AB0HJ

Very good news they fixed your problem right away, after you posted a video for a pretty large audience, but what about others with no such exposure like yours? I agree it is not ham radio but as you say it is a game. We already witness radio live streams with Single way QSOs. The op listen to the stream because isn't able to receive the signal. That's not ham radio neither but goes on the log. I appreciate your videos very much and I am glad you are recovery. Ciao de N6LDM

The big thing is, IF you can't get on the air for whatever reason it's an option. I also had the privledge to use Handi-Ham"s station to get on the air. It got me by until my enviroment changed where I used a Hamstick on 75/80 meter on a hand rail of a third floor apartment deck. I even ran a Net for a while doing that. Of course I was able to go portable and mobile too.

I quit them as fast as I tried it. I made one critical comment and got a huge email back from a DX station who was part of their admin team berating me. I just said this is not worth it. This was back when they first started.

Just registered on Hamsphere and had a very quick play around. Shall be interested to see what you think Kevin. Initial thoughts were, computer game or simulator. I couldn't hear any FT8 on any of the bands. Maybe condx not so good today 😅.

Hamsphere was neat back in 2010, but now it seems much less useful with the technology we have available today. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Ham radio was never intended to be a video game. From the email you received it looks like the admins are in Europe and not the US hence the lack of FCC control. I will stay out of Hamsphere for my own safety from ID thieves and other riff raff.

Before i got my license, well while i was studying for it. I tried Hamsphere and got a little more exposure to what it was going to be like being a ham. A video game is a great way to describe it. 73 de KF7SEY
