Hamas terrorists launched rockets at a $320 million pier that the U.S. military is building off the coast of the Gaza Strip meant to receive shipments of aid for Palestinians.

Hamas is trying to withhold food and supplies from its own people. That's how much they care about those women and children. I suppose if they have tunnels under schools and hospitals, denying food is a small price to pay for the people to host Hamas and give them their support.

Hamas was previously covertly supported by Israel to destabilize the existing government in Gaza and cripple the push for Palestinian statehood. Israel was successful doing this and now Hamas is coming back to bite them. The kidnapped Israeli citizens are victims of Hamas. The Palestinians in Gaza are also victims of Hamas. Half of them are children who have been growing up under rule by a terrorist organization. Hamas needs to be removed but Israel is doing nothing or worse-than-nothing to prevent civilian death and suffering. Maybe I'm crazy but I feel that a country with UN membership should uphold higher ethical standards than the terrorists they fight. Israel officially denies propping up Hamas but it has been corroborated by reputable sources and publications both internal and external to Israel.

Israel has been blocking or throttling the flow of aid through border crossings. Unfortunately, the relocation is already happening with Israel forcing people to the south. 3/4 buildings are rubble in Gaza City, they won't have a place to go back to. I don't think the port the US is building will be used for relocation at least not compared to the scale of people being forced out overland. I am cautiously optimistic that maybe it'll be an aid channel that Israel can't control and limit. The threat of relocation later is one thing, people starving right now is another. In a humanitarian sense that's the most important thing right now.
