Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Friday it would free the father of the youngest hostages seized in its Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel and two others including a dual U.S. citizen in the next exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners.
Yarden Bibas, Keith Siegel and Ofer Kalderon will be handed over on Saturday, Hamas armed wing spokesperson Abu Obeida said in a post on his Telegram channel.
Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, Israeli foreign ministry special envoy, criticises the "brutal" handover of hostages by Hamas to Israel.
"This is part of this psychological warfare of Hamas."

The Red Cross has a responsibility to visit captives, check their health status and make sure they are not mistreated. However, that did not happen for any of the hostages. The Red Cross showing up now and pretending to be involved in any meaningful way gives the Hamas a false legitimacy regarding the treatment and living conditions of the hostages. Basically, it helps to give the Hamas a cleaner, more humane image that they do not deserve, and for free.
