Hamas releases 4 female hostages amid prisoner exchange, ceasefire deal

As part of a latest ceasefire deal, Israel and Hamas militants exchanged a second wave of prisoners within the last week. Four young Israeli soldiers held captive by the militant group were set free from Gaza City Saturday, as dozens of Palestinians were released from Ofer prison in the occupied West Bank.
Family members of the hostages burst into tears and joy as they watched their daughters being handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza, before quickly being reunited with them in person.
The women were abducted from an army base during Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023 assault in south Israel.
The latest truce, brokered by Qatar and Egypt and backed by the U.S., is the first phase of a deal aimed at ending the 15-month war in Gaza.
Addressing the second prisoner swap Saturday, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari reiterated that the “mission is not over until every single hostage comes home.” Ninety hostages remain in Hamas’s captivity.

A force as strong as Israel's army failed to prevent a few hundred militants from overrunning their defenses, so a large portion of the blame for Oct. 7th is actually on Netanyahu and the IDF's shoulders. Israel lost ALL of its goodwill around the world by committing countless war crimes and destroying CIVILIANS and their homes - meanwhile destroying far less actual enemy combatants compared to civilians. It's a disaster. If the Nazis in WW2 had been attacked by Poland and that's what had started WW2 (hypothetically) but then the Nazis proceeded to commit genocide and create concentration camps to wipe out people etc. eliminating countless civilians, then it also wouldn't matter if they were attacked at first.
