This is the third day of the Hamburg High School (Hamburg New York) Class of 1970 and its 50th Reunion. Our class chartered the Miss Buffalo boat, for a 2 hour cruise around the Buffalo waterfront, where we saw the Buffalo Coast Guard Base from the water, learned about the City of Buffalo water intake, and where it is piped underground a couple of miles away to the Colonel Ward Pumping Station, for distribution around the city. We also saw the Peace Bridge, the Frank Lloyd Wright designed boathouse where acing shells are kept by athletes. While cruising south along the inner breakwall, we observed an ultralight air craft flying gracefully overhead, the Buffalo Lighthouse, which was put into operation in the 19th Century to warn mariners, then prior to docking saw Canalside, where the newly installed carousel was put into operation, as well as the Buffalo Naval and Servicemens Park, where the Light rusier USS Little Rock, the USS The Sullivans, and the diesel submarine USS Croker are tied for touring. Later, those classmates went for an Italian dinner at Ilio diPaolos Italian Restaurant in Blasdell, NY. After dinner, it was announced that the class raised enough money for scholarshpis for students with special needs.
