I've seen this opinion a lot across KZbin because of the line "I have so much work to do" he was always a workaholic so I don't think Laurens's death made him not take a break. But if you have another reason to think this instead of the line "I have so much work to do" please let me know!

@@oliviag469 from a perspective of a workaholic myself, though we do enjoy doing a shit ton of work usually we also use our work as a coping mechanism which is why our stress or woes are often unnoticed. I won't say Laurens is the reason of Hamilton's spiral, but it's definitely a defining factor.

When Laurens says 'Tomorrow there'll be more of us' while he was cupping Phillips cheek, I feel like the meaning behind it is that even though he died his sacrifice made it to where Phillip would someday help move the country forward during its early years. Which connects to dear Theodosia when burr and Hamilton sing about how their kids will 'come of age with our young nation '. Even if he doesn't know that God plans to bring Phillip home sooner than expected, he was more than happy to die for him to live in a free country as we r today.
