There is a period where after you've done some type of performance (whether its playing music, singing, dancing, or everything combined) enough times, it becomes muscle memory and you don't really have to "think" about it. The problem is when you inevitably *do* think about it, and your body and brain go completely out of sync and you're just fucked. Been there more than once, unfortunately.

jasmine wasn't the one who messed up, but i once read about a performance early on in the show's production where jasmine's mic went out during the schuyler sisters. so during the "work work!" "angelicaaa!" "work work!" "eliza!" section, there was just a pause where peggy's line was supposed to be. that, i think, is the most "and peggy" thing ever.

You know I do sound for my school musical and in the middle of the in school performance an actor forgot his solo song because his friends were laughing in the front row and he froze and started mouthing like a mic was the issue, so then the pit reset the music and then we gave him a handeheld mic and he got himself together and did it and it was genius but in reality his wireless mic pack was perfectly fine and I had myself plugged in on my end hearing his output and it was perfectly fine and halfway thru the song the easiest way to tell it was working was when he put the handheld down and like he wasn’t even using the handheld cause I had it muted on the board, so after the show everyone was like “ha U messed up his mic” and i took the fall for him, it was a coverup 😂

Hahaha, I remember we performed Annie my sophomore year of high school and I played Miss Hannigan. Right in the middle of doing a dance sequence which required me to step across rickety beds made of flimsy wood and sing 'Little Girls', I forgot part of the verse. So sang the following words within the song key, "whoops, I forgot the words" and went right into the next line. I don't know what was worse. The fact that I forgot the lyrics or that I made up lyrics and had to stop myself from laughing so I could finish my solo.
