Hey George, do you not use a water trap with heated wire? Or expiratory filter on this vent?

Hi: If you have a properly functioning and setup heated wire and humidifier, you shouldn't need a water trap. If you don''t, then use one but be aware that its a big source for bacterial contamination which could lead to VAPs (Ventilator associated pneumonias). Expiratory filters are always good to have on a ventilator as long as it doesn't impede expiratory gas flows. We currently don't have one on this vent as it's primarily used for instructional purposes. Have a great day
