I bought this LP in Japan! I'm eagerly waiting for it to arrive! I ran out of savings, but it's worth every penny. I already have all 4 LPs and some singles from the band. In my opinion, they're the best Softrock band and, as some have mentioned, their sound with R&B, soul, and funk influences is amazing. They're incredibly talented musicians who are very underrated. ❤

Agreed, Dan had such a pure pop voice. "Don't Wait Up For Me" should've been huge.

These fellows had a great "Motown/R&B flavor" in their music.

It's the other way around. The Four Tops did a version of THIS song. This version happens to be the original. Check out The Original's Project or Second Hand Song for more info.

The Friends of Distinction did a really nice version of it, too....I can't recall at the moment if theirs was the very first recording of the song or what...I think the Four Tops version came afterward, but I could be wrong. Either way, all three versions are excellent :)

A bit of trivia, this version of "Ain't No Woman" came BEFORE the 4 Tops rendition
@cmulwee00115 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, it's amazing how the song went thru a major re-write and rearrangement when the 4 Tops covered it. I guess that happens with a LOT of songs. Somebody remakes an existing song, and does it a completely different way. I can name one, the very first recording of "Twist and Shout " by (Ernie And) The Top Notes, while technically the same song, bears little resemblence to the versions, that The Isley Bros. and THe Beatles would make famous.

Agree! I marvel at that quite a bit how a song can change like that...another example, of many I'm sure, would be How Sweet it is (To Be Loved By You) by Marvin Gaye and, years later, the hit version by James Taylor.

Guys needed some better songwriters. Don't pull your love was unfortunately the only decent song in my opinion.

+pbaylis1 " Fallin in love " is a great Track as is " Winners and losers " So Sad that the lead singer Dan Hamilton died so young in his 40's ..

They 'deserved' so much better, better label, better songs, better producer. Don't Pull Your Love, really highlighted them so as to do them justice proving great possibilities.

I'll have to agree, although "Daisy Mae" is right up there with Don't Pull Your Love. It was enough to make me get the 45. It still is one of my all time fave picker upper. "Falling In Love" was a nise ballad. But that's about it.

La mayoría de éstas letras las escribieron los mismos compositores de Don't pull your love (Lambert y Potter) Hay muchas canciones hermosas de estos compositores, como Hallway Symphony, long road, on the other hand, Don't be afraid of the world, c'est la vie, etc. Pero Danny Hamilton era aún mejor compositor musical, el escribió casi todos los temas del álbum Fallin in Love, compuso canciones increíbles como "every day without your love", "so Good at loving you", "what kind of love is this". "Bar Room Blues", "Only Love" (es bellisima), "love is"," winners and losers",. Y ese álbum es el mas grandioso...Danny era un talentoso compositor, cantante y guitarrista ❤ También compuso "Love and conversation", "Get on the Bus" y "it the take the best" y muchos instrumentales en su carrera. Vendió muchas canciones. ❤🌺🌹 Era un músico con todas las letras de la palabra.
