I have this in 32mm with patina. I also have their type 44 in 32 with the soprod movement. So i picked patina on this because this will be a main beater for me. Will be cool to see this thing in 5 years all beaten on.

Really love their dedication to keeping the true look and feel of the past. It would be more of an appeal to todays buyer if they did update some things as you suggested. I think "as is" it is priced a little high. A 40mm or 39 with sapphire and better lume, may warrant their price...but still it's a cool watch...nice vid....

Definitely, Brian - and a really good choice for the military enthusiasts this appeals to. The 40mm version would be the one I'd go for, but with those changes, AND an American movement, it'd be some package for the price.

Great vid Pip, I think 38 is my sweet spot (7 inch wrist) and definitely sapphire,if they can do that I'd be on it like a dog eating beetroot 😀👌

Should have been automatic or at least a smooth sweep quartz. The more universal size especially for a field watch is 36mm (e.g. Rolex Explorer) not 38mm. 36mm is nearer the mid size of field watches like the dirty dozen which were made from 32mm to 38mm max size.

A nice one mate! It's a feast for the eyes of its own kind when a second hand hits all the markers, right? You're spot on about the size, 38 would be perfect! Oh and some things should be left in the past...like mineral crystals! 😬

You can't beat just good old fashioned alignment! I think they also do a model where the brand name, which I think is a pretty cool one, is kind of just raised on the dial, which I think looks really good. I understand they're going for real authenticity here, so no branding on the dial is fine, but for my modern sensibilities, I wouldn't mind seeing the brand name, albeit extremely subtly. Oh, by the way, I've sorted a couple more bezels out since you told me the hot water trick! I owe you a drink!

as soon as i saw this watch i knew i was going to buy one, but i have to save for the swiss version as it would be a huge insult to all the men and women who fought in ww2 to buy this homage watch with a japanese movement.
