So the story in this song actually happened. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison sat down over dinner with Alexander Hamilton and made a deal. Hamilton can do anything he likes with the U.S's financial plan, and Washington D.C. is in Virginia. That is the actual reason why D.C. is where it is today. And Hamilton screwed Jefferson, because he made New York the financial capitol, which it still is today. One dinner with lasting effects. And, really, no one else was in the room where it happened.

Oh I’m missing the visuals so much for this one. The context is important as well. Especially since there is so much of it. Btw, you noticed the New Orleans feel. That’s supposed to be a dig on the fact that Alexander is an immigrant from the Caribbean. Yet he played the two Virginians (according to Jefferson anyway). In real life we don’t know how much of Jefferson’s claims were true.
